As of 11/30/2022 - Obviously, AOL changed the drop-down menu to find the App Name. It's all still there though. Just type "Outlook Desktop" in the "App Name" up top, then "Generate Password." My video has been here for a couple of years, but AOL Inc obviously changed this part as of a few weeks ago. Just type it in instead of selecting a drop menu.
Similar method can be used if your cell phone email app will not sync with AOL Mail.
Getting America Online - AOL Mail conflict to work with Microsoft Windows Win 10 Fix Solve eMail App / Outlook Mail on Windows 10 Pro and other Windows 10 versions.
If AOL Mail is not working in Win 10 Mail, try this:
Log in to AOL Online mail.aol.com
Under your name select "Account Info"
On the left select "account security"
At the bottom hover curser over "manage App and Passwords
Click "Generate Password" A Window opens with "Select App"
Choose "Outlook Desktop" Then click Generate. You will get a code.
Highlight and COPY the code - You will need to paste it to your Windows Mail application where it is asking for a 'new password.'
Now open Windows 10 Mail app on your computer.
You will get a warning Symbol for the Account. Right Click and select "Fix Account" or seek the "!"
HERE IS WHERE YOU PASTE THE CODE YOU COPIED FROM THE STEPS ABOVE INTO THE NORMAL AOL PASSWORD BOX WITHIN MS MAIL APP
Mail should now start working.

My Windows Mail app quit working almost 10 months ago. I've spent hours reading articles and watching videos. I bet I've tried 200 different things to get it working again.
