Dude, holy damn! This drum tuning video is absolutely amazing, I clicked and the video was over for my feeling haha! I learned so much! I'm definitely gonna check the full version out! And quickly compare between the tunings and intervals I just make this small list: 3:08 High tension, Perfect 5th 4:35 High tension, Perfect 4th 6:38 Medium tension, Perfect 5th 8:13 Med/low tension, Perfect 4th 11:13 Low/swamp, Perfect 5th 14:32 Med/High, Minor 3rd 16:11 High tension, half step Amazing Kenny! Again thank you so much! Also that tip about hitting the lug and then turning to hear what pitch it needs to be, amazing smart tip!

I have to say, I like the swamp tuning for rock and country. I've been playing Rogers since 1980. I just bought a new 6.5" Powertone like in this video in Sunburst Laquer to add to my Rogers snares from the 70's and 80's: 5" Superten, 5" Dynasonic COB, 6.5" Dynasonic COB, & 8" Dynasonic XP10. Thanks for the video!

Im a beginner drummer. I like that simple set up. Can i omit the two little toms and just use the floor?

If that’s what works for you? Absolutely. Thank you for watching. 🤗

Hey there, Kenny! You have taught me so much. I use interval tuning all the time now. Wonderful. I’m a perfect 4th man. So good. I’m also a fan of even tuning as well as a half step higher on reso. For my snare I like perfect 4th too! I also am wondering how you keep your K’s so clean! Great playing too; you are a fantastic drummer and have great energy!

Wow thank you so much for the kind words. Stoked to know my videos have helped you hone in the drum sounds you want. I use Music Nomad Cymbal Cleaner on the K's. It's great. Thank you so much for watching. Please check out my website www.kennysharretts.com for tons more drum tuning videos.

Absolutely, man! I didn’t know that the music nomad cleaner could be used on traditional finish. Perfect. I have some.

Love your videos Kenny, your enthusiasm and personality is infectious. I've been playing drums for over 30 years and never have had the snare drum sound I have in my head. Ive just recently got a 14x6.5 ludwig black beauty, I know all drums are different but how would you recommend I tune the heads to get a crack with body too? Take care and best wishes from Liverpool!

Howdy Ralph. This actually IS one of the re-issued Power Tone snares. It absolutely rocks. Especially for the price.

Swamp the best. But what key to get that pitch, isnt C or d? My snare also 14×6in . 8 lugs. Wood shell. Remo clear head. Its a cheap drum set actually😢😢
@KennySharretts Жыл бұрын
It’s not a key per se as it is 2 notes that work well together. The full vid at www.kennysharretts.com has all the steps, and all the pitches to get the sounds. It’s a cheap rental that will make your “cheap” snare sound like a $1000 snare. Thank you for watching.

Original Lug Locs From cardinal Percussion. And YES it's an amazingly versatile drum. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for the kind words, for commenting, and for watching.
