As an old machine builder, I have to say something, but I want to say it as gently as possible. It's not an amateur bar, it's an armature bar.

I noticed that too after I filmed the video 😅

How long have you been building machines? I'd love to ask a few questions...

Armature bar …

Started tattooing 15 years ago on coils, quit for many years and picking up my machines again. Tried a traditional rotary, old hummingbird and loved it. Now going to use what I got until I can dabbed some coin and then make the switch to all rotary and maybe pens, but definitely cartridges!

Hey brother this is a all around tunning question. because i just line with coils and i shade with a bishop pen . But here it is do you tune loaded or unloaded because i can get a perfect 50 duty and 130 cps unloaded but as soon as i load it its thrown off . And when i try tunning loaded i can get 54 duty and 123 ish cps . So loaded or unloaded?

What is the difference between ah out line machine an shading machine

Starting out with coil machines, is there a reason why you don't use them? Or should I not use them. I'm a hands on type of guy, I'd rather know everything about my machine, building wise, an my own knowledge. Love the videos. Definitely would love feedback on coil machines. Thanks brandon!!

Coil machines are old school. Takes some skill to be able to set up and tune properly. The new pen style are more popular now. Very easy to setup and use but I’ve never actually used a pen style I’m still using old coils and rotary machines

@@dustindobransky5834 rotary dildo pens are lame . Lol I’m loyal to the coil bro. I can tattoo faster and make a more precise custom coil machine machine that will run better than any rotary dildo
@ericblackheart9928 Жыл бұрын
It’s personal preference I think but I can line better and faster using a coil machine.I been tattooing 16 years and have tried rotaries but never really liked them.
@tarriegibson11935 ай бұрын
Yeah I can't believe there was plastic parts on that. I got a kit with several machines years ago,did some good tattoos then they got shaky. The shaky thing made me leave it alone for 5-6 years. Now I want to tune them in because I bought a bunch of sterile needles that I need to use before it's to late and my son says give me tattoos mom.😅 Plus it's fun😊

It is my understanding that if you have linear motion on tatoo machine like coil or rotary with slider, storks is revered. So for lining you want closer hit like 3.0-3.5mm but shading is 4mm stoke. Is that right?
@ivanmendoza84572 жыл бұрын
Yeah rotary higher the stroke the better for lines 4 2 and up for coils it's backwards but linear motion rotaries are the same like say a bishop v6 u still gonna need a longer stroke to put in lines the only way it's gonna relate to a coil like hit is if u use a Dan kubin or Joshua bowers steel driver otherwise forget it your still gonna have to slow ur hand down with any rotary even linear rotary that doesn't equal a coil ...

DragonHawk coil machines are good to learn with.

But can you use a metal screw instead of a plastic screw? Or does that become dangerous because of the voltage running through?
@Tattooing1012 жыл бұрын
Almost all good quality machines do not use plastic screw caps

How far should a liner needle and a shader needle be poking out of the tip be?
@tylerhughes73642 жыл бұрын
You’re going to want to work off the tips of your needles no matter the machine, riding the tube is a bad habit since the skin is different all over the body.
@TatsByTaco Жыл бұрын
@@tylerhughes7364 I definitely do not reccomend riding the needle while shading (for beginners) because thats how you'll chew up skin like NO ONES business. I reccomend about 2 fingernails thick out for shading, 4 fingernails out for lining. Ride the needle while lining, ride the tube for shading, whip and pendulum for gradient, small slow circles for saturation.

Burns on your hand?? Wtf are you talking about dude? I've been tattooing for 23 years, lots of traditional style stuff that needs a heavy hitting machine, and I've never burnt my hand. Like ever. And I run my machine at 14 volts sometimes lol

Oh my God You just keep saying it! You sound ridiculous bro Go pick up your rotary and put down the real tattoo machine. Leave the coils for the men. Loyal to the coil for life lol
