Kinda unrelated but a noob question. Shouldn't the coax center attach to the longer piece and the coax shield to the shorter piece?

in the 1990 i seen a guy made a j pole like that on his car but he use smaller stainless steal nice antenna

Is the long element the ground side how it work if you use the short side for the ground side long element for transmit

I may have seen a worse video on KZbin ... but I can't remember when. If you're going to make a video -- don't start out by referring to some other video that your viewers probably haven't seen. Don't use jargon.
