What shocks me, it’s the amount of so called engineers online on a simple desk in a room with no acoustics what so ever with €200 monitors and a laptop teaching stuff they don’t even know what they are talking about. There’s so many things wrong with this video, I don’t even know where to start. Besides the fact that his trying to tune really bad vocal recording with melodyne and auto tune in different keys.

@@MastiksoulTV @RizNut Yes, you’re correct about them being set to two different keys but I think you both don’t understand the intention/work flow here so I'm PINNING this comment for all to understand. While I should’ve explained this better in the video, all I can do (2 years later) is explain here like this: In my use-case here, Melodyne’s key setting DOESN'T MATTER. Why? Because I’m using Melodyne to MANUALLY move notes on my own using the pitch tools available. For clarity, I’m not relying on Melodyne to tune my vocal automatically like I am with AutoTune. I’m using Melodyne here to make smaller adjustments manually to pre-tune parts of the vocal to get the reaction I want from the AutoTune. If I was relying on the built-in tuning in Melodyne (such as the sliders that automatically move notes to the correct key, based on the key setting that's set to F minor) then you’d be 100% right here. BUT that ISN'T what I'm doing at all. There is ZERO automatic tuning taking place in Melodyne in this example. Anyone with some understanding of music (myself included) knows you need to be in key for everything to gel. Melodyne being set to F minor is not somehow pulling me out of the D Minor key that AutoTune is set to, which is how you’re making it seem with these comments 😅 There is literally zero rubbing as a result of that. Melodyne’s key setting is useless and irrelevant in my example based on how I’m using it here. I think the challenge here is what I’m showing and suggesting isn’t traditional (even combining them may seem bizarre to some - "why not just use graph mode on AutoTune?"), and you’re thinking about more traditional ways to use both tools, likely individually. Most people just rely on one or the other to tune a vocal in a transparent and automatic way - and that’s OK but again NOT what I'm showcasing here. Assuming you watched the video, you’d know that what I’m showing you here is really this: Step 1: Put AutoTune in the 2nd slot, put it in key and get it to do most of the work automatically Step 2: manually (so NOT relying on the auto pitch correction tools) adjust notes using Melodyne in the first plugin slot (albeit in a pre-processing sort of method) to finesse the way AutoTune processes the vocals. And as I mentioned in the disclaimer at 1:15, the song example is literally a quick freestyle I put together for the sake of this video in the melodic rap genre (check the video title). I didn't record it for you to like it. I just did it so I can have a quick example to work through for this to make sense. A challenging part about making KZbin videos like this is I need music that avoids copyright problems and doesn't expose artists I work with that aren't pitch perfect. If you want to give me one of your raw recordings/songs for a future video, let me know ;) Hopefully I’m explaining this in an understandable way. It’s definitely a good note to clarify but it shouldn’t discount the lesson. If this still doesn’t make sense, let’s be productive and talk about it rather than cutting each other down.

@@5piece Dear friend, interested to see what you would do, because I work like that my self, and maybe, just maybe, you would teach me something. That was not the case. Nothing personal.

@@MastiksoulTV that’s seriously what you’re gonna say back? Must be pretty big ego blow to you having your initial comment be broken down and spoon fed to you like a lil baby in a laymen’s terms that you could understand huh 😂 so you decide to Comment “ I didn’t learn anything from you” instead of acknowledging the fact that you blatantly talked shit about the creator and bashed his lesson saying it was bullshit and wrong , and then when it’s shown to you that you’re absolutely wrong ; you won’t even apologize or say my bad ? Jesus man. You’re the worst

Yo bro I really enjoy your videos and I would like to give a suggestion, it seems like you focus a ton on what people say in comments, don't feed them, and by this I mean this is my second video and you state similar things like a Disclaimer "hey guys please don't judge me this is just a test" you do not need to worry about comments and what people think. You can say it in a way that makes the video more fun rather than apologetic. Music is subjective anyway so you always going to be judged whether you like it or not. At the end it's just a suggestion.

I appreciate that Kyle. I agree with you, and it’s something I’ve been working on more. It’s sometimes frustrating to spend hours upon hours making content just for someone to come and doodoo all over it. That being said, I’m making a big effort on newer videos to not do this and keep it as concise as possible simultaneously. Thank you for the reminder either way!!
