Nice! They’re so much fun to play on! I got mine a few years ago, but wanted to try tuning my mini guitar which I got in Japan to a guitalele! I don’t know how common that is but it sounds great!

@@MoroFullmetal Update, it came in late and some strings were all wrong. Because of the lockdown i have to wait for some time before i get it back... my ukelele and guitar will have to do for now :/ I look forward playing on it :D

It's Tuning is the same as a Requinto (which is the same as a Guitar w/ a Capo on the 5th Fret). Aquila makes Special Strings for E Tuning.

Sounds & plays well in standard E tuning with the added bonus of easy action on the fingers. E tuning issues & loose strings are simply not true.

Well...if you place your capo on the 5th fret of a guitar...

Yes. The same chord shapes will work perfectly well. It will be a different pitch though unless you put a capo on 5th fret as per video.

I have a cheap version of what I’m told is a 6 string ukulele- I’m going to try and tune it as seen in his video. My question really is it possible it’s just a tourist model of a tiny guitar....seemed to me a lot of work and strings for a tourist prop. It’s blue and has a bib B on the label inside. I can’t read the fine print.

Then use a tuning fork (or any other source of 440 Hz tone) and tune the high A string to the pitch of the fork. Having that as a reference, tune the rest of the strings as you would tune a guitar without electronic tuner.

Yes and no, you can play the chords on this instrument that you play on the guitar but in reality you will be playing the chords that are 4 half-steps higher. For example, if you play a C chord on this guilele, it is actually an E chord.If you play an F like you would on a guitar, it is actually an A chord.Etc,etc.
