A heads up. The hole should be oblong, not round. You put the ring on with the lip facing out to the side of the thumb. Twisting the ring around so the lip is on the thumb's pad, in a camming action, locks the ring to the thumb, preventing the ring from following the arrow down range.

Awesome Skyler , I love this ring and the history behind it. I will practice this technique. You are the reason I started making coin rings so I am happy you are recording videos again. Take care!

The issue you had is that not the same as overheating or a little start of fire scale? I've noticed with the 1964 Kennedy's that once in a blue moon one will do that from just going a little to much heat? Thanks for sharing

just discovered your channel, I'm hooked. just visited your website with non fine metal coins how wearable are they? Would having nickel allergy or irritation prevent from using non precious coins?
@CoinRingsfromTheMint6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! If you have a nickel allergy I would definitely stick with the silver rings. They won't have any nickel. The non silver ones definitely do have some.

Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve made this and I wouldn’t know what the diameter of the coin was. I’m sure you can look it up online though.

@CoinRingsfromTheMint6 жыл бұрын
Haha beat up working man hands for sure. A life of construction and now jewelry is tough on hands.
@perroblanco494 жыл бұрын
he has old man because he's a working man, when people work their hands get rough and develop calluses.

Oldest thumb ring was found in China, not Mongolia or turkey
@SucukluEkm3k4 жыл бұрын
Because we attack china
@markusdirschl37524 жыл бұрын
@@SucukluEkm3k your nationalist answer aside, the first known clash between Chinese and mongolians was north of the area where the thumbring was found and dates about the same time. Makes not so mutch sense that the Chinese have it only because mongolians attacked them. No offense but Chinese culture was more developed by that time than mongolian was. There are also drawings of ancient Egyptians that look like they shoot thumb draw and probably used thumb rings. They are dated at a time long before any history about Mongolia or Turkey even exists. Like 4000 B.C. The mongolians played probably a very important role in developing and spreading the composite bow. But they didn't invent it.
