This video is very handy, for the likes of me.. As i do have a strimmer and the head for hedge trimmers. But the 2 bars, in inside the shafts are different. So i like to know, how to fit the bar in the hedge trimmer into the shaft of the strimmer head. I would appreate your help.

Hi I have a ryobi hedge cutter attachment for a multi tool strimmer but on the hedge cutter attachment the push in lock pin / snap button is missing wondering where I could get one

Biggest problem I had with fitting my chinese attachments to the husky 525lk engine unit I bought was the drive shaft ends, 525 has a male end, the chinese attachments needed a female end on the engine unit. Buying long reach husky hedge and pole saw attachments really sodding stung ;) Glad I did though world of difference in performance. Your vid as given me an idea though, will see if I can take the attachment collar off the engine unit pole, and just attach the heads for a sort reach hedge and pole saw.

I was even thinking of cutting a drive shaft down and rewelding it with the right ends as long as you can keep it straight To make middle length hedge trimmer. Yes most Chinese stuff is crap but the one i got has been really good (strange) lol. All the best calvin

Hi Calvin. Are you on Face book? I bought what I thought was a kawasaki hedge trimmer at the start of lock down. The seller didn't mention that the gearbox housing was missing. Trued it out a couple of weeks ago and only one blade was moving. Been told that it's a strimmer with aftermarket head. Can't source gearbox or trimmer attachment. Housing for attachment is 25mm, and the metal rod is 7mm with 7 splines. I'm based in South Wales. A seller in Germany on eBay has one but says my pole diameter needs to be 26mm. Mine is 22mm.

Hi Clive. Thanks for the comments. I've never seen any thin spacers for sale the only spacers I've seen are usually in strimmer head gearbox's but they are really tight I've tried getting them out but I give up and make new ones. I will look into it further to see if I can buy some. Cheers Calvin

I found an 60.00 one on ebay for my redmax. It has to say 7spline. I bought a 9 spline and it didn't fit the redmax pole. It was a cheap Chinese one but it does the job. I do have other redmax trimmers, so it's not my main trimmer.

Hi hard worker. Thanks for the comment. No sorry i don't think you can turn a bent shaft strimmer into a hedge trimmer. I think the tube would be to narrow and the spline on the drive shaft would be different. I've never tried sorry so I couldn't be 100% positive. All the best calvin

Bent shaft strimmers use a wire to turn the head and it would be awkward to use
