Triple thumbs up!! 🙌🏻❤️ I absolutely love your new garments - the first one is my favourite. These look like they could be from a high-end clothing store 😍 Your scrap buster videos are proof that remnants are a source of potential rather than a problem to get rid of, and they never fail to inspire me. Thank you so much for sharing all your wonderful ideas with us!

Oh you know how when I did a sweater for my hubby you commented that the dry sage color is actually your favorite? When I put it together with white it seemed to make such a great combo that I was immediately inspired and you popped into my head! :)
@JoletteRoodt9 ай бұрын
I agree, it's a beautiful combination! I only chose the first sweater as my favourite because I liked the bold, modern lines. But I also love everything about the third sweater though... I'm glad you get to keep them all! 😅

I love your scrap videos. The big take away for me was alternating the front and back colors on your white, brown and tan sweater. I wouldn't have thought of that and it looks great. All 3 projects look beautiful. I have color blocked sports bras (cotton Lycra $$) and right now I am working on 2 fleece vests from the scraps. From 4 projects I had enough scraps to make both vests. You get full credit for giving me the idea. It seems like free clothing when I can use scraps to create them. Please keep making these types of videos. I won't say they are my favorites because I enjoy a lot of other things you do. But, they are in my top 3.
@ThoughtfulCreativity9 ай бұрын
Ooooh, how exciting! I feel the same way as you in regards of "free clothes". I feel that my little one is dresses solely in "free clothes" and I have never felt that she was not dressed in fun and kid appropriate clothing. I am so glad you enjoyed and had a take away, yay!

Another amazing set of scrap-busting projects!!! Thank you for introducing the technique of cutting out a pattern on top of another fabric - so cool! I sometimes wish that I could see your creativity and problem-solving skills at work on dresses and skirts, but I totally understand and appreciate that you choose to make clothing that fits with your life and lifestyle and will be actively used in your wardrobe. There are so many channels that promote buying huge amounts of fast-fashion. Even if they say they donate or sell the items after.... I don't know. There really is something so much more thoughtful and sustainable about your approach. Personal and self-aware. I really appreciate you and your work. Thank you for being an uplifting, educational, and inspiring part of my 2023, and happy holidays to you and your family.

Abaigeal, hello there! I totally hear you.... I battle with that thought on a regular basis. One on hand I think to myself: "I can't be that selfish and only make what I wear, because different people wear different things..." on the other hand in terms of finances, some videos don't even make $50, so I can't be investing 2 weeks of my work time, plus fabric and notions and then end up with a garment that I won't ever wear. But on the other hand I hope that people can watch the videos and get inspired, borrow ideas and techniques and then explore their own projects. It is a battle and I hear you, I have done skirts and dresses videos in the past and I think all of the dresses I have made I converted into shirts/blouses. BUT, maybe in the future I will have an opportunity to do a dress/skirt for someone else, who knows? My mind is open to it :)
@abaigealduda27569 ай бұрын
@ThoughtfulCreativity I think your approach is, well, "beyond reproach." Even if you were really well funded by every video, I think the core of your message is about making things that are appropriate for an individual's lifestyle. So I really hope that you heard that I genuinely wonder what you would do with skiers and dresses, but that I honestly and whole-heartedly appreciate you and the parameters of your channel. Really!! You are you, and I love following what you do and learning from you.

What awesome makes. Love how you used the scraps to make such nice clothes. I loved the reverse rose. I’ve been practicing doing air brushing. I have a little basic hand pump air brush nothing fancy. I can do small to medium projects with it. Just been thinking how pretty & cute on clothes it would be with buttons, ribbon, and decorative thread. A color wheel is good if you don’t know what colors go with each other.

I love your videos and clear instruction so much. Just a note: recently your audio seems to have changed. Every time you take a breath while talking, it seems to be especially loud. I don't know anything about sound systems, but is there a change you have made recently...maybe a new mic or new placement? This is really difficult to listen to. Just wanted you to know. But it's no reflection on the quality of your videos. They are still the best!!! And yours is the first channel I recommend to friends when asked. Also your video was out of focus part of the time. Not the usual quality.

Hi Alisa. This is Ramya. I have been following you for quite a long time. I need a suggestion from you. I am trying to sew a fabric where the sequins are glued to the fabric. Is there any specific machine setting that i need to use to sew this fabric? I am using brother se630 and i dont have serger. Suggest me a better way to sew this fabric. TIA
@tracyoduinn94389 ай бұрын
Try to pick off the sequins in the seam allowance an choose your needle based on the fabric. No needles like to go through plastic and the sequins will stick out at your seams. Good luck
@ramyasmoments9 ай бұрын
@@tracyoduinn9438 thank you for helping me out. I used the needle size 90/14. Then i tried with 100 too. The problem is the glue is getting stuck to the needle when sewing. When it happens i am not able to sew further. I have to oil the needle to get it running. Is that the only way ?coz it is taking a whole lot of time 😰
@dotschischloh97679 ай бұрын
There is a nonstick machine needle on the market. I have not tried it. You may be fated to clean your needle every 5 minutes. 😢
