Got a question for you man. So why is that night fishing they say use a black bait. Like a black wake rat for example. It's dark out , the water is dark so why use a dark color bait ?

So the theory is that black baits, like topwaters, contrast a lot more against the night sky, especially during the full moon. It gives the fish a distinct silhouette to track and hit. That being said, I'm more in Matt Allen's boat, where color doesn't really matter to me, as long as I'm fishing the same lures on a slightly larger and slower scale as I would during the day.

What Sir said, the darker the bait, the better the silhouette for the fish to pin. I still think size and action of the bait is way more important than color day or night

too bad foul hook,. nice fish though. i wish those baits werent so expensive. i think im gonna try to make my own big trout glide bait, since i got a airbrush i used to use for rc car bodies and a block of wood is like 10 bux. . nice vid gl out there.

Fish had the front hook in its mouth, shook it, than the back treble hooked the fish in the back, got lucky to land it. Go for it man! Just remember that the key to a good glide bait is balance and weighting

ya i use light line 6# so there is no way i would have been able to hoist it up like that. i got a nice one couple weekends ago on the total opposite set up as you the float and fly and nailed a fat one i put a vid up if you want to check it. . though here its small. im trying for a dd, where are you fishing anyways im in california at castaic, on shore. this place is tough but can still get some sometimes. gl out there.
