I like to use it as three main "robot logistics hubs". Since bots reduce settlement happiness, I keep like 3-5 of them with only robots and send like half a dozen robot provisioners to them. So like Hangman's Alley goes to Jamaica Plains, the Castle, and Oberland, a bunch from Greygarden go to Taffington, Oberland, and Starlight, and then some at Red Rocket connect Sanctuary and all my satellite farms up north to the rest of the network. The result is 80%+ of my provisioners being tough-ass robots and no overlap between human and mechanical settlers. Hangman's Alley is so cash. Do the bots, have like five stay there and farm and the rest run trade lines and you just need your one bed and shack there with some crafting benches and spare ammo if it isn't already your central main spot.

It's stupid that, even with scrap mods, you can't open up the boarded up doors to various apartments. Like why would you live in a sheet metal and moldy plank shack instead of a damn brick building with privacy and insulation.
@fallout4myth9403 ай бұрын
And there's actual buildable space behind the buildings too lol.

There's your problem. Trying to make sense of Todd's empty nonsensical head. It's frustrating. I give so much love to builders like this or my long time favourite, Skooled Zone because I don't have the patience they have for these broken games. I mod. This is a beautiful build, but it looks hair pulling frustrating to build. And, the best part is Todd never learns from his mistakes, just look at Starfield. ✌🏼

I've been fortunate thst hasn't happened to me. Even with this big build here. I agree with you. Settlement build limit is so low and I don't think bethesda was prepared for settlement build to be such a big hit.

This location is a pain in the ass to build in, even with mods like Scrap Everything and Place Anywhere. Even with Scrap Everything there are items that aren't scrapable, like the wooden stairs that take you up to the elevated section, and power lines, and Deco-Kit wall fixtures and pipes. The really frustrating part is the build area itself, because even if you scrap the Deco-Kit sections , you still have to wall off everything up to the green border because there's just empty void that needs to be hidden. Then there's a lot of un-scrapable bits left in the air because the build ceiling is lower than the surrounding walls, and the pieces you scrap are three times taller than anything in the build kit, so the sections don't match with build kit sizes so you have these gaps you cannot hide or fill in. Your decision to use the Concrete build set was the best choice, because Concrete pieces are the most forgiving when it comes to collision boxes, and overcoming those collision box conflicts. I don't spend too much time or effort on Hangman's Alley, I scrap everything that is there taking up space, build a small living/sleeping area for myself and three or four settlers, build up some turrets on scaffolding to minimize melee attack damage, a farm large enough to support the settlers and water, some power for missile and laser turrets and lights, and I set up a provisioner line. Mostly Hangman's Alley is a drop-off loot and scrap my junk site before I move further into the war zone of Boston, or before I make the trip north to Concord area.
@fallout4myth9403 ай бұрын
Even with mods it's a pain in the ass eh? I thought it'd be easier to scrap the rubble and what not. Tell me about it! Concrete is the way to go since it's so versitile
@wod52033 ай бұрын
@@fallout4myth940 Oh, I can scrap a lot, all of the shacks, sidewalks, columns, walls, gravel and grass piles, all of the trash, and whole walls. The problem is, there are still objects that are baked into the game, the wooden stairs for example, that one piece mucks up a lot. Then there's all of the add-on bits that remain, the wall grates and piping items, some are so high up you can't reach them to scrap them, and some won't scrap at all. I found this out the hard way of course, started scrapping and building, but the off angles and that metal overhang you built a platform from (that doesn't scrap either), kept getting in the way, so I scrapped the entire Deco-kit wall. Sadly though, the build kit the devs use isn't always in room sized sections, and I deleted the whole five story wall. All those pipes and fittings and metal pieces remained behind, and some were scrapable, some were not. So, after a couple of hours trying to make it look correct, and realizing that wasn't ever going to happen, I escaped out of build mode and loaded my last save before I got there. I lost a few hours of time, but luckily no awesome Legendary weapons or stuff like that. Your build did give me some ideas though, about how to platform around the edge better than my current Alley build is, luckily I only have three people there, so I can ship them all off to Murkwater Construction Site for a few days while I re-imaging their living spaces.
@garmtpug2 ай бұрын
@@wod5203 LOL! I've run into some of these same problems! One time I began scrapping existing walls with some mod I had installed and I was left with a very weird void with bits and pieces of the game floating around. Luckily, I had a save right before my scrapping mania and was able to go back, otherwise it would have truly been a pain to try to fix that. Or just been unfixable! Sometimes bits of the ground disappear too if I go crazy scrapping or just use console commands, and that is just too bizarre for me to leave as is! Before I try scrapping anything that seems very much a fixture of the game I always do a save. I've been burned too many times! 🙂

Have a lot of weapons in your inventory, then drop them. Go on workshop mode and store those weapons. The game will think you are storing workshop assets and luring your build limit back down. I'd recommend doing this only when you really need it.
