This is so tacky.... The result clashes with many style rules. Shorts are short, these are almost capris. 15cm is the absolute maximum inseam, 7-10 cm is prefered. Never distress/frays. Make proper hems, not rolled cuffs. It reeks spandex as well, also forbidden: jorts are 100% cotton. Always. My advice: no DIY. Enough options in the ladies section of the average thrift store, 20th centure men jorts usually end up there. Proper men shorts are impossible to find new, most are made-in-china crap that mimic this DIY project.

Just don't.... You never get a good stonewash hem with DIY shortening. Frayes are unacceptable IMO unless your name is Jessica Simpson. Luckily there are tons of decent hemmed shorts available for peanuts at goodwill. Don't skip the ladies section, they usually have more options, especially if you like short shorts 3-5 inch inseam, that is really hard to find at the men section. I don't like men that wear knee warmers. Show me a good thigh!
