I've done this before, but I like your willingness to share with others when you have something useful and practical.

It's my pleasure! I like packing the channel with helpful tech tips we can do today with what we already have.

I've wanted to do this since I first got my Google phone a couple of years ago, but I'm a big procrastinator. It's so annoying. Thanks man!

Happy I could assist! Yeah I hate the fact they make things like this purposely distracting.

Since you are using a Samsung smartphone, there is the screen recording function which would be wayyyy more...convenient? in this case. Then again, thanks for sharing this mate~

Right, but I usually use screen recording for the very detailed instructions. In this video someone could really just follow me by ear mostly.

I have a pathological hatred of adverts

I don't blame ya! The fact they use own searches against to throw "personalized" ads at us is crazy. Even here on KZbin... I still search for some videos in Incognito mode so they don't spam my feed for weeks.

@@dpirate How do you do that ( incognito)???

People that do these tutorial videos on phone menus don't get enough praise, my mother enabled this on her phone and had no idea how to explain what she did but I remembered turning this off on mine.

I have Google discover turned off on my phone. But I've got android 10. My Mom just got an android 11 phone, I've turned off the Google discover *BUT* I can't find how to get rid of the Google screen that shows up when you swipe right of the home screen! Nothing on the internet has helped so far! I long press a space on the home screen, hit the home settings option, and the only options listed are for Notification dots, add app to home screen and allow home screen rotation. Please help!

If you can, send me a picture or screenshot of the issue to me on Facebook (under DownloadingPirate). My educated guess is it's either a Google Search widget or one of those phones with the build-in Google homepages. If it's a widget you'll have to long press it and an option to remove it should come up. If it's a homepage long pressing on a blank space (on the homepage) should bring up an option to edit all the homepages (it'll look kinda like windows). Any page that's removable we have a trash can or delete option on it at the top or bottom. If it's not removable it won't have anything. For example, there has to be atleast one homepage screen so the one left doesn't have an option to remove it of course. This could be a solution, creating an extra page in order to remove the Google one. If this comment doesn't help feel free to follow up with me on Facebook.
