Great use for old laptop screens! Unfortunately the converter and power adapter seem to cost as much as a bigger/used LCD desktop monitor. Two suggestions for the cable placement: - if you make a rectangular/circular hole in the middle of the clipboard to pass the LCD cable through, it will not be visible in the bottom. - if the controller board is placed closer to the middle of the clipboard, the VGA/HDMi/DVI cable will not be visible on the side.

@tennishistoryandresultsdat4540 Жыл бұрын
I think that the idea of this video is that you ALREADY HAVE this screen, so it comes with no extra cost.
@bbay1977 Жыл бұрын
@@tennishistoryandresultsdat4540 The idea for that video was to show someone how they could take a used laptop screen and convert it to a standing monitor for eother a desktop or for a laptop that has a way to connect to a external screen. I have aboit 10 screens I salvaged from old laptops that are outdated and not worth using. That board then was $25 without the power supply. I was going to build one to use with my laptop cause my screen when out. The cost of a new screen for my laptop only costed me was 46 with free shipping. Now something like this will help me to build arcades since I have been hoarding screens and parts for them for the past 3 years. This would make them light weight and cheaper for me to build cause I could have them up and running for only $25. My intentions were to build bartop arcadesl. I just never started it when all the stuff hit the fan back in 2020 and shut everything down. Great video though.

The idea is fantastic, excellent but my opinion instead of passing the cable through the front of the screen, you would have made a hole and pass the cable behind so that it is not visible and for the electronic card use an acrylic box for mounting on the wall, for protection of the same circuit.
