Great use for old laptop screens! Unfortunately the converter and power adapter seem to cost as much as a bigger/used LCD desktop monitor. Two suggestions for the cable placement: - if you make a rectangular/circular hole in the middle of the clipboard to pass the LCD cable through, it will not be visible in the bottom. - if the controller board is placed closer to the middle of the clipboard, the VGA/HDMi/DVI cable will not be visible on the side.

What converter and power adaptar do you mean? i jus ordered the controller and you can use the laptop charger that came with it to power the controller i believe, all costing me less than 30 bucks

I absolutely love it when a crazy idea I get in my mind , eg I had a Toshiba laptop , not worth replacing the screen,but it still served a purpose when Im doing a PC build , then I had a Fried Laptops motherboard where it was polorised with some Wally adding 240 volts 🙄 into the main CPU , asked if I could repair a literal bonfire ! Cut a long , this Advent and my Toshiba in my shack worked perfect using this tech , so it's awesome when ya wild thoughts actually aren't ,and it proves it ere , great video buddy , today's tech , manufacturers DONT want us able to repair nowadays , wel tough Sxxt Toshiba , I don't need to spend £100 quid yet !!! That's the going rate of a ok Upgradeable W7 satellite Pro,,, good job man 🙏🙏

I think that the idea of this video is that you ALREADY HAVE this screen, so it comes with no extra cost.
@bbay1977
@bbay1977 2 жыл бұрын
@@tennishistoryandresultsdat4540 The idea for that video was to show someone how they could take a used laptop screen and convert it to a standing monitor for eother a desktop or for a laptop that has a way to connect to a external screen. I have aboit 10 screens I salvaged from old laptops that are outdated and not worth using. That board then was $25 without the power supply. I was going to build one to use with my laptop cause my screen when out. The cost of a new screen for my laptop only costed me was 46 with free shipping. Now something like this will help me to build arcades since I have been hoarding screens and parts for them for the past 3 years. This would make them light weight and cheaper for me to build cause I could have them up and running for only $25. My intentions were to build bartop arcadesl. I just never started it when all the stuff hit the fan back in 2020 and shut everything down. Great video though.
