BTW, that craft stick with the hole is GENIUS! It beats winding the wick around a pencil! And I love that candle making kit. I’ve always played with the idea with candle making for a long time. You may have pushed me over the edge now! And the crafts keep piling up!! Personal time? WHEN is that? You’re my “ one stop shopping” for craft ideas and instructions!! Thank God!

I can't take credit for that idea. A bunch of them come in that kit. That is the coolest kit. It has literally everything you need. It even comes with 3 little tins to make candles in. It has the fragrance, dye, wicks, wax, the spoon for stirring, the thermometer, the burner and the pot. Give it a try my friend! 🥰🤗

Hi Cynthia my friend! Yes a wood wick would work, and they are really cool. They do crackle when burning. I couldn't find any long enough, that's exactly what I wanted to do. Ok Miss Rebel, I’m blown away!! I’ve never seen anyone give so much input and attention to a can as you have! From the design to the molds, to the paints, to the finishes, to the extra little touches, I’m so impressed! And then a candle? WOW! This would be a great seller in a craft fair! I would have to start in January! I’m wondering how hot the can would get, not only to the touch, but how it effects the paints and molds. Would a little handle help? Would love to put a glass top on it when not in use as well. I learned so much today from one little can project! You’re truly a talented artist! I loved this very much!

Hi Nicole, I'm so happy you're enjoying all my projects. Not a silly question at all. When using water based paints and varnishes, I use Speedball pink soap and I'll leave you a safe link below. For varnishes that are solvent based, the only thing that cleans them well is turpentine and you can get that at any home improvement store. Instead of texture paste I use acrylic silicone sealer that plumbers use. I think it is called Dap from walmart. Dries overnight and great detail

Does the heat of the lit candle affect the clay and texture paste embellishments?

Hi Dianna, Nope, it sure doesn't. You know what's funny, when I was pouring the hot wax in the can, I had a panic moment because I had used hot glue to add the embellishments. But nothing fell off or loosened. If anything was going to happen, it would have been then. I burned the candle for several hours and the can didn't even get warm.
