Hi do you use the same polyvine products for napkins as well. Also if you have aready done a top coat of modge podge can you put a layer of the heavy duty wood varnish on top? I find the modge podge not so good with heat. Thanks london uk

Hi there! Yes, I use Polyvine products for everything. I don't use mod podge at all anymore. I'm not sure if you can put the Polyvine over top of the mod podge if it hasn't cured yet. Mod podge needs a 4 week cure time. I'd wait the 4 weeks and then put the Polyvine heavy duty wood varnish over it. That one is perfect for coasters. Heat doesn't bother it at all. That's what I put on all my coasters. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖. -Polyvine Heavy Duty Wood Varnish: decoupagenapkins.com/products/polyvine-heavy-duty-wood-varnish?sca_ref=3969749.C8aAXEduCt

Hi Melody! Thank you and I'm happy you enjoyed this video! Polyvine is the secret. It's just an amazing product. My favorite formula is the heavy duty wood varnish. I'm learning your technique -- purchased the products you suggested. I'm getting wrinkles. If I wet too much they tear -- I know it's hard not seeing what I'm doing, but I am following your video. Can you give me some more pointers please. The coasters are so pretty. I'm using the 4x4 subway tiles.
@masoncreationsetc
@masoncreationsetc 22 сағат бұрын
Hi there. You need to use a lot of water. After adding the water move the napkin to pull out the deep wrinkles by just gently pulling on the edges. Don't touch the inside at all, just the edges. And move it a little bit at a time on each side of the napkin. Keep going around the napkin until you've pulled out all the deep wrinkles. This should get rid of all your wrinkles. After you lay the napkin on the tile, remove the plastic slowly. If you have any trouble removing the napkin, you didn't use enough water. The water keeps the napkin from sticking to the plastic. After you remove the plastic, don't touch the napkin at all. Let it sit and dry. Try cutting the napkin to just a little bit bigger than the coaster. Do this before you wet it. If there is too much napkin hanging over the edge, it will cause some problems. Tell me exactly what you are doing when the napkin tears.

Do you use glass paint? I'm using gouache but it doesn't go well 😦
@masoncreationsetc
@masoncreationsetc 21 сағат бұрын
Hi there, No I haven't used glass paint. But this method is for acrylic or latex paints. You wouldn't need to do this with glass paint because it's specifically made to paint glass. Gouache is a water based paint. I wouldn't think it would work on glass at all. Did you try it using this method with it? Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to send me a message 😊💖
