Apart from being programmed to be poor, I have the feeling we are also programmed to specialize - if sciences or hobbies, we are wanted to prioritize ONE thing and are systematically kept away from connecting with other fields etc. On top of that perfectionism can make people feel too insecure to share their 10 percent exceeding skills. In the current financial and online business world(s), do you think it is still better and important to specialize and prioritize? Are there already existing gaps for indecisive "multi"-skilled/interested people? Can there be too much perfectionism, what is too little, what is too much? How to deal with the feeling: "There is always someone better at this, more specialized and focused." All of this makes it hard for me to answer your question about "THE skill".
@sueperfichen3 жыл бұрын
i get the impression that you are in a similar situation as me and can't specialize because you are interested in many different topics. maybe you are a scanner personality / multipotentialite? maybe you could connect some of your interests and follow a rather wide vision which leaves more space for different skill sets :)

I really liked that example about learning from coaching. It says to me: save time. The other side of that coin is spend time by learning online (i.e. searching, working out if information is legitimate, figuring out if information converts to real world results). While paid learning means you need money, that is a great incentive to increase income for the use of saving time. I never thought of it in those terms.

My skill set is jazz harmony/jazz theory. I love to break down pieces of music by the jazz greats (and indeed all kinds of genres really), and discuss how they go about constructing a solo, or breaking down different and interesting melodies and harmonies. It can get really quite interesting, and complex. I’d love to start a podcast where I do just that, and delve into it with other people. It’s certainly a community in which everyone is willing to learn, and whilst there are channels out there that do do this kind of stuff, I could put a twist on it by exploring different genres, of different artists - maybe do a series for one artist and then another. Who knows... I do believe that it would provide value in the sense that it would make it easier for people to transcribe (basically write out music) music influenced by the people they listen to. More than that, it would make it simpler for the beginners to understand the basics. I feel that, if people UNDERSTAND the music, they can enjoy it better. That would be the value, I imagine. Definitely been on my mind for a while.

I make cakes and am very much a "wing it and hope it turns out" type. I have learned to love this about me, as I will learn as much as I can about, say, making a good ganache or getting really smooth icing, then I just go for it! Sometimes this works out, but I actually found I get a greater sense of achievement when something doesn't work out or doesn't end up how I expect and then having to problem solve, adapt, and figure out what happened so I can either prevent it, correct it, or replicate it in the future. I like knowing just enough about the cause and effect, the science, the rules, etc. to be relatively competent and then tweaking things and "breaking the rules" to get the, often unconventional, results I want. I just started using ganache and made a batch of ganache with only white chocolate, fresh crushed blackberries, and no other liquids like milk or cream. It turned out SO DAMN GOOD! I would love to share my ridiculous cakeology journey with people and am figuring out how to do that.

I'm very knowledgeable about plantbased and vegan foods and food brands because LONG BEFORE eating plantbased/vegan became a trend a few years ago, I was suffering with severe chronic eczema all over my body, every day of my life since childhood. Doctors and skin specialists weren't very helpful - they just shove prescriptions on you. I changed what I ate and the products I used on my skin and body to improve my skin condition and gain a better quality of life. My knowledge came from research, but most of all, DOING. I applied a lot of what I learned and observed what did and didn't help me. I'm basically an eczema specialist at this point lol 🤣✨

@@Abundantiaco Okay, that's sweeeeet news, Sorelle! 😀🎉😁 I also wanted to add that, approximately 6 million ppl in Canada have eczema, 30 million ppl in the USA have eczema and 15 million ppl in the UK have eczema. Of course it varies in severity depending on the person. Most ppl with the eczema don't realize how much what they eat/drink and their lifestyle impacts their ability to manage their skin.

I’m interested in this topic 😇 as a vegan, I still haven’t figured out my eczema. So maybe you have knowledge that others like myself would benefit from! My eczema is not typical from what I see, it only appears in my ears (not outside the ear, but on the actual inside). So if you ever do decide to share, I’ll be here to listen! 🥰
