I always struggled with this even in trade school😅 I just really needed to see it up close . I knew how but idk I just could never get them good and tight I got fet up with my wires just coming apart like a joke so on the spot I looked up how to twist wires not expecting to find much but I watched your instructions and actions and after that twisted the best wires of my life😅 amazing tutorial even if you where just showing what’s right from wrong

do you want to use this wire as a winch or is it still for the transmission of electric current?

where the wires are twisted incorrectly, the frame is continuous, and where it is correct, for some reason, the frames are glued together. looks a lot like typikal cheating

I learned a long time ago; Never join stranded wires without soldering them.
@3sixtybubba1333 жыл бұрын
But if u dont have solder or a soldering iron wouldnt joining them and slapping electrical tape do the trick temporarily
@chrisgraham29043 жыл бұрын
@@3sixtybubba133 Yes, as long as the wires are connected to complete the circuit and they have been over-wrapped with an insulator, such as electrical tape, the circuit should work fine on a temporary basis. As shown by the video, there are a number of ways of making the splice that will improve the reliability of the connection. There are also a number of mechanical connectors that can improve the connection over a simple splice for a more durable connection. These types of stranded wire connections are used most in automotive repairs, which are often subject to stresses and vibrations that can eventually cause failure of the circuit. Diagnosing and finding a failed connection, sometimes years later, within the miles of wiring on a vehicle can be a huge challenge and can be very expensive to trace. Soldering is the ultimate connection when insulated with shrink tubing and is equivalent to the original wire's conductivity. An investment in a soldering iron, a little skill and a few extra minutes of your time will insure that your fixes stay fixed and don't come back to haunt you. My soldering iron is 50 years old and still works as it did on day one.

Ok but now show how to twist wires together when there’s not many inches of wire (like you used here). Maybe when there’s only the tips exposed like in most connections (ie for chandeliers).

@@ripster9713 because the twisting dosen`t have to be perfect, but it is critical that you solder the wires. plus the wires are strip more than double the length you would normally strip than

That looks like way too much work. That would take forever to install a stereo and speakers in a car. I twist them together, then keep twisting into a knot. It's super fast and it'll never ever come apart after shrink tube or electrical tape
