There are a few reasons you should consider twisting your stirrup leathers. In my opinion, the main reason is safety. If you are sitting on your horse, and you lose your stirrup, you will find out real quick how hard it is to get you boot back in the stirrup if they aren't twisted.
Not being able to get your boot back into position is a recipe for disaster.
The second main reason to turn your stirrups is comfort. If you only spend an hour of so in the saddle every month, you might not notice this benefit; but, if you are spending hours upon hours in the saddle, you are going to notice not having the stirrups twisted is very hard on your knees.
Trust me, your body will thank you!
