I hope you will like this video about Cain and his potential associations to vampire myths! Please, don't be afraid to comment or voice any questions as I love interacting with you my dear viewers and I will try to respond as quickly as possible to you. Also, please like, subscribe & push the bell icon as those actions do help this channel to grow! This month of October (like I have done previously each year) I will dedicate to discuss folkloric and religious beliefs about various creatures found in both popular folklore and organized religion. (Also sorry for the late posting of this video as the KZbin system did not like a lot of stuff in this video and I had to do a lot of re-editing to get it through the system!)

Yes, seriously it is just glorified necrophilia with cannibalism thrown in too.

@@Narrator_of_Tarikh07 People thinking too much with their lower brain, that is the short answer. Also, the kind of mystical horror that existed in older vampire myths and stories has been slowly dying out as world has kind of lost the belief in these sorts of folk beliefs or lost the conceptualization of the contextual horror of them. You also see a lot of changes in vampire myths to reflect various aspects of society throughout different ages. From being a belief in some sort of demonic possession of a corpse, in early Christian European folklore, or a representation of predation in nature (which many people lived close too) and being eaten by animals, to being more like a spreading disease when cities and large pandemics became more common, to being a representation of class exploitation in the wake of early industrialization & the enlightenment. And now we have this....which...probably would require a rather long freudian psychology like analysis which I am neither have the qualifications for nor am I willing to delve deep into this.😳

@@theculturedjinniNo joke, but last year, a guy actually wore a vampire costume and came to school with it to impress his crush. Result ? They f*cked in the school bathroom because she found him too sexy and charming in it (that's actually how she described him when i asked her). When i learned this, my honest reaction was *: "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS !? A'OUDOUBILLAH !"* The "vampire obsession" of today is seriously beginning to worry me. 😥 Footnote : "Me, the guy and the girl are all 17."😅

Caine killed Abel, aka "Cannibal".🧛♂️ Etymology can be fun, huh!?🤷♂️😅
@theculturedjinni2 ай бұрын
👍 I have heard that it is one of the origins, yet I found it to be kind of doubtful, but I have also heard it comes from the name of the Caribs tribe which the Spanish encountered (this seems the most likely to me). In addition, I have also heard it also comes from Kahni Ba'l (= Ba'l priest who were known to have practiced cannibalism) and a lot of other origins. I have actually considered going into this for a future video, yes by sheer coincidence, as it is a pretty interesting word to look into etymologically, but it is more on the very basic on the shelf stage and you more or less re-activated that project. (I will now have to order old lexicons from the uni library to do research but you did draw back my interest into this project)

yeah, I'm sure you're probably right about the Caribes tribe being the origin of the word. I seen a documentary on cannibalism a few year's ago and vaguely remember them being in it. I had also heard the whole Caine/Abel = "cannibal", name origin theory before and thought it was kind of fun and coincidental when you think about the story and then put the name's together. I just discovered your page and see you have a lot of subjects that I'm interested in. You have a new subscriber my friend!👍
