The Vittra, plural vittror, sometime referred to in Swedish referred to as “De osynliga” the unseen ones, are creatures from Swedish (& greater Nordic) folklore that live in the deepest parts of the forest underground in small burrows and have a lot of magical powers and myths associated with them (and are arguably several different creatures and also have various different dialectal names such as vätte/vättar, but are here somewhat thrown together as they are referred to as the same type of creature and share often a lot of commonalities).

This month of October (like I have done previously each year) I will dedicate to discuss folkloric and religious beliefs about various creatures found in both popular folklore and organized religion. I hope you will like this video about this unseen creature from Swedish/Nordic folklore! i have dynamic psychological experiences when in nature. part of my interest in Continental Philosophy was because Sartre, Beauvoir, Heidegger or Kant, seem to address that better than Analytic Philosophers like Moore, Russel, Frege, or Kripke. 😛

@@beepboop204 This is true for me too, I actually also appreciate continental philosophy too for its tendency to be more holistic to the entire human experience, with that said I do like certain philosophers more than I do others when it comes to continental philosophy.

Well it is quite a common theme of a lot of stories connected to creatures like these! But I think it did bring home the kind of creature we are dealing with.

@@theculturedjinni Yeah, similarities with old tales of various fae. Lots of European myths are related. Makes you wonder how far back the roots of the stories go. Elements are probably prehistoric. 👍

@@NefariousKoel 👍This is very much possible & and in many cases also the case. Though, you also have the fact that many of these stories could have been separate traditions too, but due to cultural exposure between cultures they also morph into more similar stories too (Drögar [Swedish]/Draugar [Icelandic], a type of Nordic undead for example actually began to adopt vampiric blood drinking myths about them after exposure to continental vampire myths, which was not the case before). Historic myth & folklore studies is a filed with a lot of interesting stuff about various cultural developments and how myths either begin from the same source and diverge or begin as separate but later become more similar due to contact between peoples.
