You do not have to go to the dealer to change the battery in your fob. The back just pops off. There is a spot to pry it up when you take the physical key out.

Is this the case for a 2013 Ford Fusion? If the FOB is not verified or something like that, dead battery, etc. Would the car's battery be showing as dead as well? Trying to determine if both issues are related or just both happening at the same time randomly.

This is helpful but I’m still trying to get the small panel off to get to the keyhole. Watching this video a few times I’m going to try the angle you are using and wiggle a little more. I noticed by doing this I am scratching the paint near this hidden hole…painful experience all around.

It's a little square holder in the arm rest/center console storage area. It actually tells you this in the manual.. just an FYI

Hi. I have lincoln mkt and it works the same way. I just wonder could i start the car when the remote control is broken but the key blase is intact? I can unlock the car obviously by the blade or by the code but since the remote is broken in 3 pieces how do i start the car? Any secret slots for the actual key blade?

Hi Georgi, you should first try putting the remote fob into the groove located in either the glove box or under the cup holder. If placing the remote fob piece in this location does not work, you may be required to replace your key fob. Unfortunately, there is no place to use the key blade to start the vehicle.
