@@Anomalyy666 no, you can't get an S+ rank, when you're playing new game+. This means, that you can't use the infinite rocket launcher for you new game pro S+ run, as it is a new game+ item only. You can however use all the bonus weapons (Handcannon, Chicago Sweeper and Primal Knife), because after you've unlocked them via their corresponding challenge and you've bought them in the Extra Content Shop, they will be available in your Typewriter Storage on every new save file. Just take them out and use them

You shouldn't, man. Every single Resident Evil gives you a good 8+ hours on your first run (save for RE:3 Remake) but afterwards the game does become easier due to being familiar with the puzzles, enemy weaknesses, special weapons and such. You would probably run the game in under 9 hours if you played again.

A good portion of us like to take our time and explore every corner in our first run, collecting treasures, killing every enemy etc. if anything i strongly recommend any first time player to not give a fuck about ranks.

Yeah, especially my first playthrough of new games I take my time and just enjoy it. I think I was somewhere around 18 hours my first playthrough on RE4 Remake. I got the deer antlers, wolfs tail and chicken hat from my S+ run on pro. I went with a slightly different save method but got it down in 5:12:12. We practically played the game together my brother. I greatly appreciate the videos and the help. I love this channel!!!! First run was on hardcore with ZERO guide or skips. Then NG+ Pro completely wiped out of supplies. Maybe 20k Pstas max and empty guns (No armored Ashley, my hardcore run took me 4-5 days and 15-20 hours). Then this new game Pro run with the chicago. Three brutal runs man. That was beyond intense but we did it together my man.

The fact that you can unlock infinite ammo before you get the hand cannon feels like an oversight but if it is I really hope they don't change it. I can understand not using the bonus weapons and new game but let us use SOMETHING to get the cannon lol. Also I'm guessing it was something random since I only saw it on one website, but I heard that there's a 'Brown' Attache case that has the 'largest size' as its bonus but it didn't say how to get it. Just to add, The Mercernaries gives an easier access to the Handcannon. Just get an S Rank on one character on all 3 maps, making the painful run less painful. I feel bad and also commend people for doing it the hard way.

I just saved up for the infinite launcher in ng+ standard. After I finished that run, I switched to hardcore to get Ashley's armor and then professional to get the sweeper. I didn't know I could just do a run on professional to get both, but oh well. Only took about 4-5 hours.

not really, the time cutoff is very long time. if you speedrun the game even if you suck at it, the game can be complete in like less than 4 hrs on average. some can beat it in under 3 hrs if they are good speedrun.

First off thank you so much for your instructions because of your help I did so much, basically in my first playthrough I went with standard and just enjoyed the game and got B rank. Then for my second playthrough I just enjoyed the game again and Got every single treasure and castellan and missable trophies on hardcore until I got the infinite rocket launcher, Then I started my third playthrough speedruning on prof to get chicago sweeper, the gas mask and Ashley's armor, and then I followed your 3 and half hour guide to get s+ on a new playthrough, then again I started a fifth playthrough on assisted to get platinum.

to make it as easy as possible to s+ rank. Unlock the HC, unlock the sweeper, unlock ashleys armor, use a few playthroughs on assisted to learn the layout of everything so you dont need to waste time running around lost. Finally, swallow your pride and buy some exclusive upgrade tickets from DLC and have infinte ammo for both HC and sweeper as early as chapter 2, then the only thing you need money for is upgrading their damage and firing rates and to buy first aides and crafting stuff for flash and heavy grenades to stock yourself up with and maybe a rocket launcher for a few boss and section skips. S+ rank should be super easy to do after this especially if you just run past most enemies and only use your guns to stun them or just get them out of your way

Yeah you can save right before Del Lago or before the eagle emblem in the valley. Gas mask helps if you have aim assist enabled on snap

So basically 1. Can't get S+ on NG+ 2. Can get the Chicago Sweeper, Ashley's Armor and Gas Mask on NG+ 3. Can get S+ on either normal or hardcore with the Chicago Sweeper (Just make sure you do all of the merchant's requests to get enough spinel's to unlock infinite ammo) 4. Have to play Pro Mode on a fresh save and beat it in under 5hrs, 30 minutes to not only unlock the cat ears but the handcannon as well.

If you finish the game, you can save and load that file to continue and pick a different difficulty but you can't get S+ (INFINITE AMMO) if you do this. You have to get s+ to get cat ears (infinite ammo) in a new playthrough, without loading a completed save. Start a new save if you want infinite ammo.

Armor Ashley and Chicago Sweeper don't require s+. S+ only gives cat ears, infinite ammo on all weapons. Chicago Sweeper appears in the typewriter on ever run after you unlock it and buy it in the extra content shop in the main menu. :)

@NeonSlice Thanks. I've just beat the remake for the first time today & I kind of figured out what I wasn't understanding at first. The animal cosmetics still irk the fck outta me though. Is there a way to use the bonuses they give you without being able to _see_ them? I hate it when special abilities are connected to gear or cosmetics. Cosmetics & gear should only be a visual feature, & special abilities shouldn't force you to choose any cosmetics. I know we can upgrade the guns individually & make them have unlimited ammo which is probably what I'm going to use & not the stupid snapchat filters that are so popular among teenage females. 🤮

*I remember back in 2006 i got the Handcannon by S ranking every Mercinaries stage with every character. My buddy stayed the night and took my bed, so i stayed up all night trying to get our last S Rank, which was Wesker and the Castle stage, i beat it with a score of 23M which was the higest score any of us had gotten and still one of the highest ive seen. Never been able to do it again, but it was partially lucky that the hooded guys gathered in a line so i melee killed several with one of Weskers palm thrusts. RE6 mercinaries was a laughably easy jock, even no mercy mode was easy. My buddy Mike and i had a system, i ran ahead and went kill crazy and he kept the combo rolling by killing scragglers and anyone i missed, maybe our teamwork was just too OP.*

No it actually gets easier because you will probably have more max upgraded itens try going for S+ if you want a challenge

Not gonna lie, one thing I like about the RE2+3 remakes is that you can buy all the unlockable weapons. Not everyone can or wants to play the game over and over and over again to unlock everything, especially with a game that takes as long as the RE4 remake. I don’t care too much for the achievements but I’d really like the weapons and all but oh well. 😔

i tried professional mode with new game where no weapon comes from 1st play through. that was impossible .so i played professional on play through of 1st run . i finish it in 58 hours .damn . i killed all enemies on all chapters. and got gas mask . so when u said u have to finish game in 5.30 hours to get gas mask .its not true . mention every detail correctly .

personally, I like the S rank system in resident evil 2 and 3 remake more. in resident evil 4 remake I don’t like the new system that they did. It’s just creating more extra steps. To get the platinum. very annoying I hope they don’t do this for future resident evil remakes

So in short: 1 - beat the game on assisted or standard once. 2 - do a new game plus run on professional with infinity rocket launcher under 7 hours and 30 minutes to unlock most of the stuff. 3 - do a new game run on professional using unlocked items. No, S+ rank new game only in PRO up to 15 saves for the cat ears Also, it's 7 hours for armor and chicago in professional You can get all hat and tail rewards at once if you finish Professional new game in under 4 hours
