Bruh, Daphne just gave me the forager tome after helping her and giving her like two flowers. Saw it online, because Malcom wasn't giving me the tome.

@@youhavetoguessit It's so random lmao. I got annoyed by Logistician so I was looking up what easy ways to change to some other tome and found this video. Afterwards I went ahead and gave Malcom gift of Gold Ore, he went "Brilliant!" but didn't give me anything, it was night time so as I was going to my house to sleep til morning, I noticed Daphne so I interacted with her and she gave me Forager lmao, even though I talked to her randomly at least three days/nights after completing her questline and she never really gave any more quests/gifts/whatever. Never gave her any gifts so there's definitely some random/hidden factors at play here.

Warning for everyone, if your pawn already has a specialization and you use a tome to overwrite it you cannot switch back. So if you are an idiot like me and have your main pawn speced with forager then switch to woodland wordsmith for the elf quest thinking I could just buy something to switch it back that isn’t the case. I think it’s bs and hate that you can’t swap your pawns specs like you can their temperament.

Yeah this is really stupid by the devs. At the very least put in an "are you sure?" dialog box. Some of the broken things about this game could've very easily been avoided with a little more care.

If you do Daphne’s “House of Blue Sunlight” you get the foragers specialization but not the logistical

My best guess is that its affinity based. I already have max affinity with another character and am unable to get a tome from either of these characters, well after completing this quest, several main story quests, and have bribed them with several gifts.

@@Invinpretty sure this is the case. Previous playthrough they didn’t give me anything, though it was several days before I talked to them again. This time they gave it to me the day after.

Something I found is quests that have rewards like this or the master skills sometimes require affinity of more than one. Like alot of people struggle with the mage one because they don't realise they need the affinity of all 3 of the family members

Only got the one from Kendrick. Didn’t even leave the underground before he stopped me and gave me the Logistical tome. Malcolm however won’t give me the tome, despite having waited/napped a few days worth of time at the bar/inn.

If you are on your first playthrough you may need some additional main story progression, others have told me they got it fairly early though, do you have the magistrate quest ongoing?

UPDATE: I got the Forager specialization after completing the House of Blue Sunbright questline and waiting a few days then speaking to Daphne again.

I found logistician to be a pain, On a gathering quest a pawn kept combining items and using up the ones a wanted.

Man I did this quest not knowing of getting any tomes, and I can’t remember if I ever went back to talk to them. After watching this I went back to try and talk to Kendrick but he doesn’t give me anything.

Me neither this game has many flaws, I received fuck all from either of them and when I speak to him now he just sounds like a broken record.

@@187roel true, it does have its flaws. But doesn’t mean it’s not a great game though. It’s really all about the exploration, a lot of people try to blow through it too quickly when there’s a lot of secrets to discover (just like the first DD) At least now we know for the next playthrough👌🏽 just curious if there’s any other way to obtain these tomes, if anyone happens to know?

@@187roel give them flowers, wait 1 day, if they dont give you the tome, give them flower again, wait 1 days, and they should give you the tome

Thank you SO much​@@charlymrivera7236 !!! I was really frustrated because when I came back after finishing the quest I spoke to one of the nuns first and I triggered a different quest. It seems the priest old man got bugged afterwards and I was not able to speak with him and recieve the specialization. Your suggestion made the trick and I finally got it 😊. BTW, using this NPC's favorite things also works, it needn't be flowers specifically. Thanks again 😊

there's something wrong with the way the questing system is, I haven't got wither of the tomes, Kendrick is just stuck telling me not to let daph know who her family is and wont move night or day, any suggestions?

Others are having issues too, maybe if you try giving a gift to the NPC's something they like, once per day for a couple of days this will help but I'm still looking for answers as to why it works for some and not others. Will update the comments if I find a solid answer.

I have the same problem. I've given both Kendrick and Malcolm 10 gifts each and got neither tome. I did find someone whos set the reward for their pawn quest as the foraging tome so now I only need the logistician tome. I really hope they fix how these work in the future. I had no idea either of these NPCs have out these tomes when I was doing their quests. Didn't find out until I was 10 levels and alot of the main story done so I went back and tried giving gifts and nothing.

Same problem here, Kendrick just says the Daphne dialogue over and over again, very annoying, Logician Pawns would be very valuable if the quest worked correctly.

So I got the forager from Daphne (so not Malcom) after doing House of Blue Sunbright, she came up to me, said she got something for me and gave me the forager tome. Kendrick on the other hand is stuck on Daphne dialogue and cannot be given gifts. Maybe when some time passes or something...

Oh that's cool that there is multiple ways to get it, yes maybe after some time or with some more main story progression. Alternatively try gifting him an item he likes once per day for a couple of days to see if that makes a difference, some others said that helps.

@@Invin Yh I know, same mechs in the original. The problem is there is no option to gift him when he uses this dialogue. So gotta wait till something changes his lines or what not. If anything, main progression should solve it? I hope at least or my gaming ocd will never get over it 😅 i will update if i find another way for that tome too.

Thank you so much for mentioning this. Malcolm would not give me the foragers tome after his quest despite a week worth if gifts. after i did Daphne's quest i gave her one bouquet of flowers and she handed the tome over. This needs to be added to the wiki

You have to let him approach you in front of the gracious hand once the quest is complete, some others are saying that they didn't get this one either so I'm not sure if further main story progression is required, where are you up to?

I had to come back in the morning to get the logistician tome. I had to give Malcolm a gift to get him to give me the forager tome. He likes fancy or expensive items so an onyx stone was enough to get the tome in my case.

You can just use any other tome and it will replace the one you have, if you only got forager try speaking to Kendrick again.

Weird you can’t change pawns specialization. They probably left it out on purpose so they can add it later as a “Quality of Life” change.

Maybe you need some additional main story progression if you are on your first playthrough, some have said they got it early in the game but I'm not sure how early, I assume it should work after the quest so let me know if you still can't get it to work!

How do you set your pawn up to be a quest guide? I did a lot of quest but it still says my pawn is not a quest guide.

Your main pawn becomes a quest guide automatically, but only for quests he/she has already completed once and thus has knowledge of. If it’s your first playthrough (not in a NG+), you will never see your main pawn being a quest guide, since all the quests you have available to play are new to him/she and doesn’t have knowledge of. In the meantime, your pawn can be a quest guide when hired by other players. Obviously, only for quests you have already completed in your own world. In NG+ I guess your pawn will be able to appear as a quest guide to you, for the quests you had completed in the previous playthrough (in its “previous life”). But that’s a guess since I’m not in NG+ yet. Note: Pawns are presented as quest guides only for the quest you have set as “priority quest”. Not for every available quest in your list.

hello guys, i've been trying to get logistics for a while and finally did it. So, i could get i logistics either after two things: 1) have in your team pawn which has logistics 2) take the quest(in the same area) from girl which tells you to give her a bouquet of flowers. Actually i think that the first one should work. I guess to get the logistics you have to had at least once time the pawn which las logistics

Forager marks spots on the main map. Simple does more gathering.

Yeah it seems to be working for some and not others and then it suddenly works for people, maybe gifting the NPC once per day for a few days, others say restarting the game after resting a few days, unfortunately no hard fix has been found yet but I will update if we find one!

Yes, if you use another tome when your main pawn already has a specialization it will be replaced by the tome and spec you redeem most recently.
