Unfortunately, I bought a Verizon unlocked note 10 ultra with 5G. The OEM unlock option is not available. I've had a factory unlocked version for years, but decided to get the 5G model. I've thought about flashing the global version, but I'm afraid of bricking the device.

did you just get the phone? that toggle doesn't show up until an hour or two after you go into the built-in OTA updater and check to see if there is a new update for you to install

I don't have that model, but you should be able to change CSC region code firmware even without unlocking the bootloader (just by using Odin) but if you want to delete pre-installed apps you'll need and unlocked bootloader and root don't forget to also join our daily Android discussions here on the channel too kzbin.info/door/nowc_KHgjVNj3Y-E-oQ8awjoin

@@juliangjoni1983 I'm not familiar with switching regions codes, so I'm not sure if it's required. figured it was worth asking /shrug I'll try to find an old Samsung phone and test switching region codes, but it's rare for me to have a spare Samsung phone on hand (usually I have to sell them to buy the next phone since companies don't send me free ones)

Damn I'm so dumb, I kept booting into download mode from a pc terminal or via the recovery mode menu but it didn't give me the option to unlock the bootloader. Turns out all I had to do was use the USB method, which I ignored since I figured it would be the same thing.

it is an easy mistake to make. I think Samsung does it this way so they can know that you aren't accidentally booting into that mode and unlocking the bootloader. if you're using a USB cable in this way, it's pretty intentional what you're trying to do just a guess, though :) thanks for the comment!

This is a software issue, let me guess... can't fast charge anymore either? Me to.. its a software issue, alright.. so try to flash the phone and this should hopefully fix it or replace and fix your port because it's junked out..

@@allenschaeffer1675 just needed to turn the phone off, plug it into a pc, then turn it back on. Thats all it needed to make the wet error go away, after months of it being there, forcing me to wireless charge only.

go to settings -> check for new OTA update. sometimes you need to register the device with Samsung's servers (by checking for an OTA update, not installing one) and then bootloader unlock steps will work

Important to note, if your USB cable only charges and is not a data cable, this won't work. The vol keys will boot safe mode instead.

Hello , i am in need for your help . i bought a note 10 plus ( Korean ) N976B/Ds with Magisk already in it all what i know that i got screwed! i live in sweden now i am stuck on android 11 i tried to check if i can update the phone when i press for check for update nothing happen , on the developer there is no oem , i tried once to uninstall magisk i lost signal network i get notification ( not registered on Network ).i restarted the phone many times then the magisk came back and after 3 / 4 minutes the signal and network is back as well, s pen not working , secure folder not working , everytimes i need to restart the phone to be able to charge the battery because it got stuck and it will stop charging .the phone status is official rom as it written in it all what i want is fix it and update it to an official stock rom/ firmware.i tried to do it once it didnt work i got a (fail bootloader). i called samsung they will not help me , i went to repair store they dont either. i dont wanna risk it anymore please if you can help me with what i can do i will be thankful and grateful. my Best regards

I would force a reboot with the Note 10 button combination (tutorial how is on AndroidExplained.com) and then try to let it boot up again. Sometimes that helps. If not, then yea, start over with Odin

unlocking the bootloader does NOT trip knox. however, if you do something like install magisk after unlocking the bootloader (like most of us do), then it will trip knox

Hello, I bought a Samsung S10 5G (SM-G977B) and I was trying to reset it to factory settings. The bootloader was not locked as the guy who sold me this phone had done some things on it (God knows what). During relocking process, I long pressed the Volume Up button and now it is stuck at Downloading screen with error showing: (Error verifying vbmeta image: OK_NOT_Signed(3) etc. I tried to flash different CSC with different version of Odin but it never gets passed recovery.img (in one case) and sometimes it fails completely. Any ideas?

i need more information about the error log other than 'it fails completely' only thing I can suggest is to use Odin to flash a stock firmware. try a different usb cable, different usb port (my Note 10+ doesn't like my usb 3.0 cable from amazon for some reason, when using Odin). sometimes people need to use a different computer altogether redownload the firmware, try another (I use TPA region firmware for my Exynos Samsung phones)

@@ExplainingAndroid Hello, I am just gonna leave this comment here so it can help anyone in future: If you rooted your S10 5G phone with a custom rom and then tried to re-lock the bootloader from Download mode, you might get stuck in download loop. To get out of it, you will need to press Bixy and Vol Down button (I did not know this) After that you can install custom firmware. I also had my phone version wrong, it was not SM-G977B, but SM-G977N (Korea/China version)

We can't relock Samsung phones anymore. We would normally use a Fastboot command to do this, but Samsung blocks these (which is why we have to use Odin) and it's not built into Odin
