Thank you - you're an Angel! I had already phoned my local Mercedes dealer for the radio code of my ML270, then looked on youtube for how to unlock & install the code given. Yours was the first video I looked at & couldn't believe how easy it was to do - only 'cos you explained it eloquently! Thank you again, I can now listen to Radio 2. :)

Just got the 2000 slk out of the garage after winter storage and the battery had completely drained. Charged up and radio code needed. The code was written in the radio booklet that came with the car when it was supplied new. I followed the instructions but could not get it to accept the code. Watching this clip saved the day as it does not tell you to do that with the tune button 👌 I'm very grateful thanks 😊

I did everything you said after finding the code but whenever i get to the last digit and press hold, it just reverts to CODE again. Any ideas? I had a philips radio on another car and it was able to have code "personalized" by anyone so that if you bought a car you could change the code. Witn that system then the factory or online code finders couldn't really tell you what the proper code should be. With the MERCEDES do you know if this can happen?

I had this problem with the radio in my SLK; I figured out how to key in the code myself. What worries me is the way the car battery drains at an alarming rate.I have noticed that when the radio is switched off, a red light begins to flash (located to the left of the led window) and stays on. Is that normal, and is that running down the battery?

if the radio is showing wait message it means its locked, justo wait forma 10-15 minutes with radio on, you don't need to turn on the key, go ahead and remove the key it won't reduce your battery, after 10-15 minutes the word code will show.

@@kilus16xd61 device must be turned on continuously for 15 minutes , 30 , 1hour or more *up to 24h. try to disconnect it for 5 mins first. or disconnect car battery for 5 minutes

I will rest after 10 mins. But the radio has to be on for the 10 mins or it will stop the countdown when you remove the key and pick it back up when you turn the ignition back on.
