Great video! I just received and installed my Eonon headunit for my 2007 Mazda 3. It's the latest model with Android 11 and I'm honestly blown away by it. There are heaps of mixed reviews, but I'm finding it to be quite an impressive system for the price. Connects wirelessly to Android Auto as soon as I turn it on. No boot load time either, just starts instantly (not sure if it's achieving this through a sleep mode, so hope it's not draining my battery). My only issue is that it doesn't sit completely flush with the console and the Google Assistant is a bit inconsistent (but I think that's an Android issue). Looking forward to playing around with it more, as it has given new life to the interior of my car!

I couldn’t agree more, I believe for the price it’s not bad, mine isn’t the fastest and best but it really changed up my car and made me enjoy it again. For me it was a great upgrade vs getting an entire new car. How’s the performance on yours? I’m considering upgrading to that one just so I can do a video on it.

@@D_Spear performance is great. My concern was going to be the boot time, but other than the first time I turned it on it loads instantly. I pretty much only use Android Auto, so there isn't really a delay when using that, but did find the onboard apps when hotspoting from my phone to be a tad slower.

I actually had both the Eonon GA9463B on Android 10, which was CRAP. I actually was scared for my safety because it was so slow I found myself trying to play with the menu for so long instead of looking at the road. I never though about this before buying and never considered this can actually be a safety hasard. I then complained for 6 months with video proof that their unit was the biggest crap any company could release ,and we ended up agreeing on me receiving their newer R63 unit. And as much as I hated the GA9463B and even feared for my safety, the R63 was so amazing I really was blown away. Conclusion: Buy their higher end unit, not all their product are good quality, but their higher end / newer units are definitely worth the buy! I also appreciated their responsiveness when communicating, it is reinsurring having people to help you out when you have different problems installing / updating their unit.

I have the android 10 model for my mazda 6 2008 and it does not support wireless android auto as I believe... i dont want to connect via USB because their dongle is crap and the old USB2.0 of the device does not output enough power to charge the phobe...

Great Video! Helped me get the radio thing resolved and the front camera annoyance. Great Video! I have the same unit but mines is GA2187. I was wondering if you by any chance knew how to fix Bluetooth issues i'm having on mines. It keeps connecting and disconnecting and it's having issues staying connected. When i'm on the phone or listening to music it keeps going on and off and i need to fix it some how. How to set up when I click on the widget the weather app open but not work and nothing changed when I refresh in weather app i got this error Network location failed because baidu location service can not calculate the location when I installed a different weather apps from Play store that working too. Idk which one you have but there was a menu for mine that you had to manually set the buttons to have the functions you want. By default they had no inputs. I have the newest one with the snapdragon 12 and 6gb ram and tiltable screen.

Hi thanks for the video really helpful any idea how to turn on the amp ctrl wire have no power at it I am sure theres a way to turn it on through the radio. Also I connected to a ignition 12v at the back of the radio but it affected my radio stations causing interference. Thanks again Shane

Hmm that’s very odd it’s not working already. What I would do is use a fuse tap from the fuse block on the driver side. One of the cig lighters is a switched 12v with the key, I actually used it when I installed factory fog lights. If you haven’t ever used a fuse tap before they are very simple, just takes up a factory fuse slot and taps off of it, and you can pretty much place two fuses in one spot, Amazon sells them, just make sure you get the correct style fuse tap for the Mazda, I don’t recall the type of fuses they take. There's a gain setting on that hidden menu. I raised the gain so that my voice is louder but so will the background noise. One thing to do is mount the mic on a soft surface like the headliner, I noticed when mounted on a solid surface it tends to pickup more noice.

The 3gb model will be able to run more things at once, it will likely be faster because of that. I’d recommend the 3gb model forsure. I don’t believe I had that option when I was buying…the sound quality is about the same as stock for me. I didn’t notice it being any worse or any better, kind of what I expected. Very cool that they make them for Elantra’s, what year is yours?

Hi, awsome video. I got a eonon r51 head unit this fall with a backup CAM and got a workshop to install it. Im now having a strange issue where the sound from the speakers dissapear after I pull it out of reverse. Ive looked around in the settings i access with the 126 password. Got any idea what setting I should look for? Heard its because the CAM is powering from the ground and not the battery

There is a setting in the rear view camera app where it ask if you want to mute or turn down the radio when in reverse. Not positive where but look into rear camera settings. I have an Eonon radio, so it can be changed.

Yes it has apple CarPlay, all you need to do is connect your iPhone via the included USB port and you’re good to go. Nothing else extra is needed to make that work.

I’m not an audio geek by any means but it would compare it to stock sound quality. I think you should just compare price points and see what best suits you. I’d say this unit lives up to the cost of it but it’s not a performance monster at all.

The Eonon units do not have any 4G LTE hardware built in. I had thought the same thing because they say it’s LTE ready, but it can only connect to a LTE hotspot or USB hotspot. It does not take a sim hard or anything because it doesn’t have the hardware. You should be able to just buy a usb hotspot in your country and make it work like that.

To have the button lights always on you have to attach the orange illumination wire to a constant 12v. I suggest just attaching it to the red wire (ignition wire that tells the radio to turn on)

For this model I read it online somewhere and it didn’t say in the manual. For some newer Eonon units the password is in the manual.

On my R80 I went to settings>car>factory settings then entered the code found in the user manual. On the next screen choose the "other" tab at the top right of the screen but different model Eonon might have a different screen layout.Then scroll down to "LED panel" or something similar and set it to "power". This way the buttons light up when the unit powers on.

Yes there is a feature that turns it off I guess so you can focus on reversing, kind of odd. I know you can turn it off though. Even the newer Eonon units do this still.

Really good video and good advice I had one but the touch screen didn't work on receiving from manufacturers it took 12 days and 60 e emails and pictures I had to send them But they finally found the problem and have sent another one which I am waiting to install the did give me advice on using a computer mouse to by pass the touch screen so I could give them the information they needed 👍🇬🇧

I believe its already activated, Pretty sure it’s called RDS? Mine shows the song. Some stations do not do it but most of the stations show the name of the song.

My Q98pro works well most of the time but a few times a week the screen is black and I have to restart the car several times to get it to work. I’d like to try updating the system but I’m unable to reach my wifi and on cellular hotspot it still says no network.

Wow that stinks, I haven’t ever had an issue like that. Sometimes apple CarPlay won’t work, maybe once a month, if that. Have to restart the car and then it works. Overall I’m still happy with this unit and it’s a few years old.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re overwhelmed with installing this! There is not an app for the backup camera, when you put the car in reverse you should see the backup camera automatically if you installed the camera correctly.
