I have 3 instances of every plugin listed in my plugin picker now... for example, I go to my mixer channel and when I want to open an effect, the menu that pops up takes up almost the whole screen because it's showing a list of the plugins, then it's showing categories that have those same plugins sorted and then it's showing a list of sub-folders that have the plugins listed AGAIN! It's driving me crazy.

Last time I updated I just waited til it said finished then I have the fl studio in my desktop background, so then I clicked open and it told me it updated to the recent version. Without clicking on the folder to run administrator.

I have always chosen 'Migrate previous' (under 'Settings' checkbox) in 'Choose Components' even within version 20 updates without issue. I thought this kept my folder choices. Am I just getting lucky with no issues or does it not matter if one unchecks 'Settings" or chooses 'Migrate previous' (note 'Clear' is unchecked)?

There's no harm in selecting it. It's a "legacy" option for those upgrading from older versions, since before they added the data folder. These days, all settings, files, and folders, etc will be located in the data folder itself. :)

I have a serious issue. I went through all the steps you took me through, and it still shows that I’m in an old version of fl studios. Another thing to add is that I’m not particularly logged into an account. After attempting to updated, When I click on the help tab and then click “about” it shows that 1.) I’m still in the previous version and 2.) I need to log in with a username and password to image line. I don’t have access to an image line account. I’ve been trying to log in with all of my emails but to no avail. How can I fix this issue ?

if you're unsure, you can select it. However, if you already have a data folder then all user-files and user settings will be located there, so you shouldn't have to. It's mostly an option to transfer user-files over from previous installations, where everything was stored in the installation folder itself. If you're upgrading from say Fl Studio 12 to the newest version, then you'll need to check the migrate settings option.

No, but you'll have to add the search folders again, and then search for them again and they'll show up.

That sucks. Glad you had everything backed up on the external hardware though. A lot of people don't have any backup at all, and once their computer / HDD fails, they lose it all. Just make sure to install all synths and effects that you use in your projects and it should work again. It might have difficulty finding some samples though. I always save my projects as a zipped loop file. That way it will export all the projects and such with the project. That way, you're sure that you have all the samples and such later on, even for very old projects. :)

You can export a song you've made in the demo version as a wav, mp3 file etc, but you can't save the project file itself. That's the only limitation I'm the demo.

You should consider buying it. By doing so, you support the developers, and their ongoing efforts to improve FL Studio, which in turn will in a way become an investment into your own music too, since you'll help develop and improve the DAW you're using. Besides, cracked versions are often quite unstable, and can cause you to lose projects. FL Studio comes with lifetime free updates, so you only have to pay for the full version once, and then every update after that will be free for life. This includes bugfix updates. If you install an updated cracked version, for example, it might crash your project while it's saving, rendering it corrupt, which is not ideal. :)

Hi, no you'll have to buy a license for it yourself. This is just a link to download the software. It will have to be registered first. Alternatively you can always use the free demo version, but you can't save projects in the demo version.

Hi, try restarting your computer, and then emediately run the fl studio installation as administrator. Don't open fl stusio itself in the meantime. Run the installation right after the restart.

Don't worry, I have many videos planned. :) Most likely, the next one will be a genre specific video. I've been forced to do a series of shorter videos lately because I haven't had much spare time on my hands. I only do KZbin in my spare time after all, and I basically have two full time jobs as well in order to get the ends to meet, so it can be difficult to find the time. I have a long list of videos to make, and that list hasn't changed. I've just moved up some of the shorter videos lately, so naturally, there's going to be more mixing related and genre specific videos to come :)

It's mostly for people who want to reset it to default for whatever reason, but if you don't use the right settings when upgrading from an older version (before they implemented the data folder) then you might accidentally reset end up with the default settings.

Just click next and everything will remain as it was, because all user files and settings are now located in the user data folder, which is a separate location. However, earlier in older versions all files would be located in the installation folder itself, and you would then have to check the "migrate settings" option in order to transfer these over , or else you would be getting a "clean" installation.

Hi, some people usually always complain that a video is too long, while others complain that not enough stuff is being covered, in other words, it's too short. It's impossible to make a video that has a perfect length. The absolute beginners usually prefer slightly longer, step-by-step tutorials like this, which explains things thoroughly, while more advanced users will tend to find such videos too long. For that reason, I often make separate shorter (usually 30 seconds - 1 minute tops) videos for more advanced users or a "shorts" video that just goes through the essentials real quick. This one is intended for the absolute beginner though. :) Note that I've also added chapters to the video, so it should be possible to just skip to the relevant section right away, which will make it much shorter for anyone who doesn't need an in-depth introduction for example.
