Related to decluttering: Clean every corner and crevice! Dirt and grime can accumulate slowly in ignored places, and what registers in the subconscious mind may go unnoticed in the conscious mind. . I moved into my small place three years ago. My kitchen cabinets seemed old and tired. I don't use the stove or oven much, so I did not notice that the cabinets were becoming yellower and dirt was accumulating in the cabinet doors' seams, joints, and corners. When I washed them with soapy water AND carefully cleaned (detailed) every seam, joint, and corner of the cabinet doors, my kitchen looked like new! Also, the same careful cleaning along baseboards and in the corner of floors where the mop doesn't clean very well, and vacuuming all cloth furniture, etc. makes a huge difference. Decluttering and really cleaning every inch will really refresh a room and even make it smell clean and new.

@@HomeByMon I think stuff piles up in the back of our heads. My mom was always REALLY cleaning. I tidy up and try to declutter, but I don't move stuff when I clean and I don't really clean in the corners more than twice/year. Also, I never dust anything if I can't actually see the dust from more than five feet away, LOL, and even then I usually dust only the top. My philosophy has always been, "If I eliminate 75% of the dirt, it's 75% better than before." But I know in my heart that I really need to do much better, and I always feel a lot of peace and satisfaction when I do a good cleaning.

I made most of them myself. When I find a fabric I like in a beige color, I always get it and make cushion covers 😅 Some of them are from Zara Home, but from a few years ago ☺️
