Ah, thank you so much, this solved my problem. I bet the game developers made it confusing to get the next gen upgrade on purpose just so they can snag an extra $70 out of everyone who bought the standard edition and then tries to play on their new Series S or X.

I installed the xbox series s and x version of it but the 120 fps and raytracing is not showing up for me and I restarted the game and my xbox fps settings on on 120 so It worked but not really. does anyone know how to fix this issue

Did you manage to fix it? I have the same problem, I bought the upgrade, and did the steps in the video and downloaded it Series X/S version. And it doesn’t have the options for 120fps in game settings, my console settings are set to 120fps just in game it doesn’t have an option

What if you own an Xbox One S console but a physical (NOT digital) copy of the game for Xbox One / Xbox X.? While installing (never finished) the game yesterday, I was able to play some multiplayer. Seemed to work perfectly w no glitches. Now fast forward , when attempting to start the game, it freezes on a black screen after displaying the purple “COD Cold War ‘Season 05’ “ logo w the female w an uzi in each hand. I just uninstalled the game from console and purchased / downloaded the $10 next gen upgrade. I’m wondering if this physical game will work on my Xbox one S. I’m having some trouble making this work. Any help would be much appreciated. ! Thanks

Hey there, I'm not sure if the $10 upgrade applies to the physical copy. I only have the digital version of the game. If I were you I'd ring microsoft and explain your situation. The entire process is extremely unclear and they should have made a clear, easy to follow guide for people wanting to upgrade. Makes absolutely no sense to me because a lot of people feel like they have been ripped off. Good luck and I hope you can get it sorted. You need to click see series x/s edition and then click on choose edition. If you have already done that and you already owned the xbox one version, the new upgrade you paid for will update it to the xbox series x/s from the xbox one version, from what I believe.

Sorry you are having trouble with it. If my video isnt clear enough maybe try and follow the steps in the video description. If you orignally purchased the non cross gen edition, you then need to purchase the cross gen upgrade. Hope you can sort it out

The $9.99 cross gen upgrade will not work if you have the physical disk of the xbox one version. I bought it thinking it would work when I popped the disk in my series X. Luckily I got a refund from Microsoft.

This is a problem I havent had to face. I recommened calling microsoft to sort this one out. Buying an xbox series x/s version when you only have xbox one isn't the way to do it unless you plan on upgrading your console.

Not entirely sure. Technically if you brought the disc version and it's not the cross gen bundle edition, you should be able to update it with the cross gen UPGRADE purchased through the store. But dont quote me on that I could be wrong.
