How To Upgrade Interior Lights | VW Golf/Jetta Mk5

Hi, Are your dome light leds (t10) glow (when they are off)when you put the switch into door mode? I have replaced my trunk bulb with a led (t10) and it glows when the trunk is closed.

@@cavusabri no, mine work as the factory T10s used to work. The only thing they do is flash a bit when I put on the key and after that they go off if I've not turned them on... The reason for that is because the BCM is checking if they are working, then if they are not it will throw a warning light on the dash

@MegatronicsZA I have replaced them all with leds. I have the same front dome light unit as you. Front and rear dome leds start to glow when i lock the doors so i put a 1k resistor in paralel and glowing stopped. As far as i know dome lights and trunk light are not monitored by the bcm. I've unplugged the trunk light and no warning.

@@cavusabri the trunk light I'm not sure because I rarely get to see whether it works or not if I don't open the boot... I'm glad you found the solution on the glowing lights. I'm happy the video was helpful

Where did you buy the led lights?
