No, you format the card so unless you have something on the card, you don't lose anything. I transfered all games into the card and everything was transferred seemlessly

Man I am considering doing this I'm just too scared to go into my system inside. I may have to though If I want the new COD Black Ops 6. My MWF 2 started as a 155 GB game now its a 280 GB Game with all of the new updates. Let alone we don't even use all of the 825 GB in a PS5. I got a lot to think about I just hate how everything is too much money these days. At least with the PS4 you can play the PS4 games off of the external storage as well. You can do that with PS4 games on PS5 but not with PS5 games on external Storage. ☹

It’s easy to take off the cover and you don’t need to push hard. Yes you still allow to play PS5 games. I installed mine a few months ago and it’s easy if you follow the steps.

Apparently you can use both internal and external and use them at the same time. Install the internal ssd first and after having that set up, then install the external and you can use both.

You can play any PS5 game from this storage. Its the USB drives that you cant play PS5 game from but only store them on. Hope this helps.
