In this episode of the Drunken Upholsterer, we cover the process of building a drop in seat for an interesting antique chair. Because this is an antique we also cover some tips for how to distinguish an antique chair from a modern or reproduction chair.
Some repairs have been made to the drop-in seat in the past. We talk about how to use saw dust and wood glue to fill in holes and damaged portions of wooden furniture. We also cover the full process of upholstering the drop in seat including checking to make sure the drop in seat fits properly, cutting the fabric for the seat, applying the webbing and covering the seat with the fabric.
