For years (since the “theater” setting in iMovie) I’ve been sharing videos to theater and uploading them to KZbin that way - takes about 2 hours each time, for 10-15 min videos... didn’t realize sharing it as a file would make such a difference. I always thought that was not the move - thanks so much! What do you think of iMovie theater, does anyone else use it I feel like so much of my time has been wasted, ha!? 😭

Oh man I need this because it takes me FOREVER to upload...sometimes I have it upload over night and my computer freaks out. Great vid! I am wondering, how to get the KZbin icon when you go to export. When ever I click the "save to KZbin and Facebook" button, it saves to computer, but doesn't go directly to KZbin? Help anyone?

Thanks for the great info! I definitely prefer option 1 (exporting to File and saving on my computer or external hard drive). I noticed that the second option you talked about at 6'48" has changed with later versions of iMovie. I followed along with you and saw my iMovie ver 10.2.4 only includes the following for exporting to KZbin (which is now KZbin & Facebook when you click on the Share icon): Description, Tags, and Resolution. There is no requirement to connect your KZbin channel, to select a Category, or to mark the video Private/Unlisted/Public. For reference, today's date is 7.22.2021. Kitty

Compression on my computer (Macbook air 2020 with Intel Processor) doing faster vs best quality is a huge difference in the time it takes to process. About 3x the time it takes.

Pro res is an editing format. It's not intended for uploading. It's there so you can export it with the intention of editing the footage later into some other video.

When I'm at uploading, my only two available resolutions are 540 and 720. Why?I just looked at my camera settings, its on 1080 p at 30 fps. It's an iphone 10. Great video.

Apparently, I missed the video where you defined iMovie. I followed the steps on this channel to record videos on my phone. Sadly, I didn’t know how huge a 5-minute video would be in the MOV format. for me, it depends on the length of my video. I usually save the video to my iPhone, go on KZbin and upload that way

just use handbrake after export and it compresses the file from lets say 1g file size down to 200mb or so without loss of audio, video. takes longer to compress but makes file so much more manageable going forward
