How to Upload High Quality Cover Photos to Facebook | Avoiding Facebook Image Compression

Learn how to upload high quality cover photos or any other photo to Facebook without any compression or loss in quality. We are going to dive deep into the settings that you need to tune into in Photoshop before uploading so that it prevents Facebook from compressing it. The settings are not my guesses, it is credible since it is up in Facebook's own guideline website.
Even after following and saving the image in a dimension recommended by Facebook, it still compresses the image. In this video, we are going to learn why it happens and how to avoid that. We are also going to cover the best resolutions and upload settings for uploading any kind of photo in high quality in Facebook. But, there's one gotcha! These settings, resolutions and standard sizes are updated, changed and revised regularly. There's obviously not one size that will work till eternity. Therefore, we will also look at where to find the perfect sizes and dimensions of images for social media.

Wow! This solved my problem! No matter how much I would shrink the pixels down, my image was just always way too big for the cover photo in my Facebook group. I worked on it for far too long. After having seen this tutorial video, I went and learned how to shrink the FILE size down for my program, Pixelmator (similar to Photoshop) and it worked! Yay!!! Super relieved! Thank you!

Can anyone help to clarify this for me? I am still a little confuse by that second point on the facebook help center page. Does it mean only cover photos need to be under 100kb , whereas any other form of photo posting need only to adhere to the first point where their width falls under one of 720px, 960px or 2048px wide; while, their file size could be anything since it explicitly states "To avoid compression when you upload your COVER photo, make sure the file size is less than 100KB" and did not mention about general postings of photos other than cover photo.

i know this video is a few years old and the same technique exists by saving to a less then 100 kb and other settings but what about other social media platfroms? sometimes i find having to optimise image for pinterest and twitter as well and need to adjust ratio for it maybe need to change quality settings too? for eg pinterest images they is 1000px by 15000px

What is a good size to upload for a fb profile pic? And, is there a universal size which reaches maximum resolution while also taking up the more real estate..for Instagram and a Facebook profile so that I’m not creating all these different sizes? Dear, can you help me with this task I have? Creating campaign with 9 different photos which I use, but they are all different quality and size. I croped parts I want to use from each as a background, but because of differences I use different font size for same text on each, then alining comes bit different, etc... Summary: •8-Bit •sRGB •Under 100KB •Any photo aspect ratio: 2048xAnything •Cover photo aspect ratio: 851x315

For the cover photo, you would actually need higher resolution and it's ok if you upload large file size. Make sure your jpg/png is either lossy or has the highest quality. Uploading a 851x315 or 851x360 banner would not be as sharp is if you take the same banner and export it at higher resolutions but the same aspect ratio.

Hi Bro, I have wathching your tutorials for years, however.
