One side note about odd prices for other marketplaces: you have to consider VAT. In the German market for instance you need to put 6,54 to get a List price of 6,99 €.

You're welcome! KDP has the option to format your description now when you are uploading your files so you don't need to worry about using HTML anymore.

You're welcome! Amazon are currently in the process of rolling out hardcovers. I'm not sure how they are choosing who gets it or when, it seems to be random so at this point you just have to wait until they add it to your account.

If you are creating a simple dot journal interior then I'd suggest just downloading a pre-made interior - it'd save so much time.

When you use Canva, do you have to flatten the document before exporting it as a PDF? How do you embed your fonts and images? Sorry but I can't find that info anywhere else

There isn't option to do this in Canva. I know that KDP guidelines say that you need to do these things but i've never had an issue uploading files that have been created in Canva. It's possible that Canva automatically does this process when you save the file.

You're welcome! Do you mean when you are uploading your book into your KDP account, there's no where to enter your description? If so, no I've never heard of this before. It's on the first page of you book listing, just under where you enter your title, subtitle and author information. If you don't have this, contact KDP support to find out what's going on.

Thank you for this video. It was helpful when I started a few months ago. I just uploaded a new book and have ran into a problem I can't figure out. It was approved and when I click on the link to find it on Amazon it shows up but it says "out of stock". I can not figure out why. I re-edited my description because I read that sometimes this happens because it does not transfer the data correctly a few time. I also changed the keywords and price as a last attempt. You're welcome! For me I find that it says out of stock when I'm looking at the US site but I'm based in Australia. So if you are not in the US (or whatever marketplace you are searching on), it usually says this until you go to your own countries marketplace. If you are selling on the US site and you live in the US and it still says Out Of Stock, I'd contact KDP support to see what the issue is.

can you help me? i created a lined interior design in canva for a blank journal, but when i upload it to kdp it produces errors on every page that the text is outside the margins, even when i have bleed selected. i realized canva doesn't allow changes to their margins, so i'm guessing canva's default margins get encoded into the pdf? amazon's method is to change the layout in ms word but that messes up my formatting by putting the very last underscore (which worked in the canva design to fill out the bleed of each line) on its own line. have you run into this problem? i haven't noticed it cause an issue in your videos. do you know how i can fix this?

good news! i figured out that the problem was using underscores, so my "lines" were registered as text, and falling outside the margins caused an error on every page for kdp. i switched to the elements>line method so that my lines were registered as graphics and were allowed to extend to the edge of the pages! i was able to submit my notebook with no errors :)

Whatever you want your book to be called (your main keyword) is what you want to put on the cover. You want your book title to sound like a book title not just a bunch of keywords.

You'd just need to check the license agreement that Canva has to see what you can and can't do with the template if it's one they have provided. If it's one you created from scratch then you can do what you want with it.

What exactly is the “manuscript”. Do I have to use a a word doc and go through pasting each page onto the doc? I saved my design in book-bolt studio, which saves as a zip folder (which gets rejected by kdp) - even using the “cover creator” - it’ll reject it inevitably (I say inevitably as it says “✅” and then declines it afterward).

Does journal need to ISBN? Because you get ISBN but I think ,it is not correct,If there is not need to ISBN so how publish journal? Means do I fill session ISBN? Please answer me thanks

I journal that has repetitive pages is classed as low content and doesn't get an ISBN. If your journal has content like journal prompts, it'll most likely get an ISBN.

However on both Kindle (Jpeg) and Paperback (PDF) manuscripts, the text from my exported "5 x 8" word document, is all over the place and certainly not suitable for publication. Hi Caroline, I'm new to KDP and wanted to try it out by uploading a notebook. I've tried to follow your video on how to create one in Canva (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGPEhqGwe855p5o), just with a different size. I am having trouble with the preview and I'm stuck in this step. I was hoping you could help me out. It keeps giving me errors. If I check the actual contents, it looks fine, the lines of the notebook are edge to edge because I set it to bleed. The cover looks good too. Using the KDP print file setup calculator, I set mine to: Black ink & white paper 7.5" x 9.25" 100 pages Then I set up the following sizes in Canva based on the calculator: - manuscript (with lines going edge to edge like in your video) to 7.625" x 9.5" (Trim size + Bleed). - cover to 15.4752" x 9.5" (cover width) Then downloaded them as PDF Print. In KDP, I chose: - Black and white interior with white paper - 7.5" x 9.25" trim size - Bleed - Matte What am I doing wrong? Hope to hear from you! Thank you for the helpful videos!
