Today is. Sunday and kitchen drain pipe is clogged so need to do something today. The local stores have only 1/2” diameter cable. Is the 2 1/2” flexible enough to get passed the 90 degree elbows? There is available a drill powered 5/16” x 25’ that we tried but in 2 tries I never got residue on the top. Good video.

It all depends on the size/diameter of your drainage pipes. I have never have to use a 1/2" on a kitchen drainage pipe. From the specs sheets below, a 1/2" auger should be able to handle a 3" diameter. You may struggle a bit to get around the 90 degrees. Hope this helps and 🎥share, 👍like, and subscribe to help support the channel! 1-2" in diameter. 1/4 in, 9/32, 5/16 in. are usually in residential home. Medium 3" diameter. 3/8 in, 13/32 in, or 1/2 in. larger lines found in showers. Large 3" or larger, 5/8 in, 11/16 in, or 3/4 in. Drain that lead to the street.

You can spray it with WD-40 or Lithium Grease to help prevent rusting. Hopes that helps.

Better use drill to more power twisted in the pipe.

Be careful using a drill. Twisting the snake too fast with a power drill will damage the snake. Especially in smaller PVC pipes. Some turns in the pipe are 90 degrees turn. Slowly and gently twisting back and forth will get the snake to go through 90 degrees turn damage free. Thanks for sharing!

In this tutorial, the handle was not used due to how messy it gets using it. When you pulled out the snake, all the slug drips and gets in between the handle and drips on to you. Also using the handle you can damage the snake easily by over twisting it. Using your bare hands you can get more of a feel on the snake before you go to fall over twisting it. Question is does the handle help? If you are having a hard time twisting and getting the snake to go down the drain, than yes I recommend it. You just have to be careful with the handle that you don't over twist it and damage the snake. Hopes this helps on why doesn't show the use of the handle. Thx for watching!

@@LifeFinanceRealEstate Most people who click on these videos already know how to use a snake without using the handle. It's relatively simple. Second, the easy way to avoid the sludge dripping on the handle is to move the handle to the back of the snake. Last, being able to twist the snake is a key factor in all snakes. In my view, someone has to come up with a better handle that is easy to assist in turning the snake.
