Hi brother, i made a 4s lithium ion battery with a 30 amp bms. After completing the wiring the bms out put voltage is below 12 v. At the battery end its 15 to 16 v. I did nt connected to charger yet, only connected a battery level indicator,.. When i first conneected the charge indicator it showed the charge which is full, after some time its not shwing anything. Then i checked the out put voltage found below 12 v. Is the bms damaged?

Great video, nice explanation of how a bms system works, however while studying you circuit diagram, 2 thing appear questionable to me. The first is that it's seems the connection between pin 2 of Q21 and the 0v line provides a total bypass of the mosfet's, the second is how can the VM pins detect a voltage difference for current measuring if they are straight up connected to the VSS pins? The data-sheet of the dw01b suggests using mosfets between VSS and VM which could cause such voltage difference but i can't seem to get how it works in this circuit. Am I not understanding something? Still, great video, keep up the good work.

When charging with this module with a power supply, a voltage is applied on the power supply, which seems to be could be harmful. I installed diodes after which there was no voltage present, however the module was not drawing any current. Is it generally harmless to apply a voltage to a power supply, or are people adding additional circuitry when using a module like this? Or perhaps, this module should not be connected to regular power supplies, but only to a charger?

The bms is hissing bro when I charged it with in 12v 1a adapter and I used a dc to dc converter to increase the voltage to 16.8v

There is no component on this BMS that can cause hissing sound. But on the other hand the power inductor on the dc to dc converter may make such sound.

You will have to check the peak current during the starting with a clamp meter. Make sure to measure the starting peak current. If it is less than 35A you may use 40A BMS. Also make sure your cells can provide that much current.

Im not sure what is in my case that the bms is only charing upto 14 volts and does not go above that..while it is suppose to go till 16 voltss....further more voltage drops by seconds....please advise

looks like your cells are not balanced. Check the individual cell voltages when the BMS has finished charging probably once cell is getting charged way faster than others

@@Circuitdigest That is ridiculous. You cannot charge a 16.8V peak battery with a 12V power supply, The power supplyk must be above 16.8V, or to use a boost circuit to reach that voltage. A 12V adapter will only charge a 2S (two series) cell battery configuration.

The CD FD points are used for detecting charging and full charge state. You can connect some LED to those points for making some charge and full charge indicators.
