So far, of all the videos I've searched for on this specific topic, yours is the most comprehensive and easy to understand...I LOVE the look of cones--especially the vintage looking pieces that are so popular in "steampunk" jewelry and I am getting ready to make a fab necklace and bracelet set for a co-working who's getting married soon, so this video really answered my question! Thank you, Andrea!

I like that you explained to put the delicas on the end so will all fit into the cone. That is an important detail that others have missed.

I love this! I stop trying to use bead cones because the ends looked so incomplete and ugly. This is the best by far.

sorry. I was frustrated. You didn't show how to do tuck the strands into the bead cone. I can't stand those tiny crimp beads. When I do get them to close properly, they don't really support the strand. I had a bracelet burst apart. I think I have found my own fix, but I am still testing. Please explain what you do in more detail! Thanks.

If you've got your seed beads sized right for your cone the strands will tuck themselves in as you pull the larger wire through the cone. The idea is for the larger wire to act as a guide which brings all your individual strands into the cone once you pull it through. Most people do find the crimping the most difficult part. It's important to use high quality crimp tubes with solid brass cores that will squash and bite into your wires instead of cracking, that way you can can feel confident putting your full force into the pliers when you crimp. Once you've got your wire through your cone we recommend finishing it on the other side with another wrapped wire loop just like you used to connect the strands to the larger wire. We've got a video that shows that technique in more detail if you're new to wire wrapping: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4WvXpeYo8imbJo

@coffeenciggy Thanks for your question! The Vintaj natural brass cones that I am using in the video have an 8mm opening at the widest point, which tapers down to a 4mm opening. With this size, you should be able to comfortably fit several strands of seed beads. If you have a problem fitting them all in, add smaller beads to the end of each strand since this part of the project will be hidden by the cone anyhow!

Wow, you suddenly put all the strands through and we couldn’t see what you were doing. Did you put a crimp bead on each strand?

@ Beadaholique - thank u very much for the dimensions!! I wouldn't have been able to tell from eyeballing your video (they turned out to be smaller than I thought) - as you can see, my sense of spatial dimensions isn't too great :))

No they each have their own crimp bead so you do each one separately but they all go through the loop first then back into their individual crimp bead if that makes sense ☺️

May I know the diameter of the bead cones you're using in this video? I have some 11/0, 13/0 & 15/0 to make multi-strands but I'm not sure what size (diameter) bead cones to purchase. Ideally I would like to have 6 strands into a cone. Thanks!!
