This is definitely about to be your most watched video

Thank you for prompt reply, Nico - sets you apart from a lot of other YT'ers. There were so many other things wrong with the camera, it makes me wonder if the seller's even try out their equipment before posting on eBay or Amazon. I will try one more purchase of this camera and if that one is a bust, bye bye Contax. Cheers and keep the articles and YT post coming our way.

I find the Yashica T4 a great contender, or T5.

Are you ever supposed to see the red arrow in AF mode if you’re too close to an object or subject or is it constantly the green circle? I used to think I saw the red arrow if I was too close to an object/subject but now I never see it, which makes me think I was accidentally in infinity mode.

Wow, what a camera. But still a bit expensive in my opinion. Great review!

Hey thanks for the video! I’m just confused. If I want to get more contrast and grain, I gotta push the film and underexpose it. So does that mean, I have to set the exposure compensation to +2? Or -2? Thank you so much!
@NicosPhotographyShow2 жыл бұрын
You would set it at - (minus) so a 400 speed film pushed to 1600 is two stops. So a -2. Its confusing in the naming. But push is underexposing. Pull is over. Hope this helps

@@NicosPhotographyShow sorry the signs can be very confusing on the contax t2. So turning the dial clockwise would essentially overexpose the film and then turning it counterclockwise would underexpose, correct?

Hi, The flash of my T2 only fires in AF mode... Is this normal?

I have 36 exposure and the camera has shot 38 and not automatically rewinded. How do i fix this? Thanks
@NicosPhotographyShow Жыл бұрын
Some rolls can go up to 39 or even 40. But if it wont rewind find the rewind button and press it, usually you will need a pen or similar as its a small button.

Apologies, newbie here with a weird question. If I want to shoot at infinity lock for some simple landscape shots, would I need to adjust the aperture on the dial?
@Alexroux782 жыл бұрын
You might wanna go at small aperture, otherwise the foreground might be blurry

Late to the party, Nico. Hopefully you still respond. I purchased a Contax T2 and there is a generous return policy by the seller. Apparently this particular camera (although in primo condition physically) apparently has a broken timer display which the seller assures me will not negatively affect the ability of the camera to perform. The seller has been completely transparent, but from your point of view, do you think this is an accurate statement on his part? Where is the timer display and is it in reference to the self timer? I never use a self timer so if that is all a broken timer display affects, no worries. Thank you for your informative, thankfully condensed videos. Cheers.
@NicosPhotographyShow9 ай бұрын
Never heard of the timer display, but if the top display is dead it can be annoying to not see settings. I would try to return it as resale value will be lower than what you probably paid. But its your choice! Enjoy the camera.

Hi! How are you? There is something I don’t understand! For letting all in automatic, i leave it AF, and normal for day 5.6?, it would make infinity? Or how many meters are the min or max to be in focus? Also, for let the af work i need to hold two times the botton from Showting, and my green one should be in the place i would love to focus on? But then i can move the camera to change the angle? Or still always at the middle? I use 400 portra iso! Thanks very much

I need help my pictures are coming out double exposure is there a way to make them come out normal
@randallstewart1224 Жыл бұрын
It is literally impossible to make a double exposure in a T2. After an exposure, the camera advances the film to the next frame automatically, with no manual override. Almost certainly what you have done is load an already exposed film roll into your T2 and shot new pictures on top of the ones already exposed.

@randallstewart1224 Жыл бұрын
It's a $400 camera. When they pay $1,200 for it, the other $800 is for social show, making the camera jewelry. I suspect that those who do this never load a roll of film or take a photo. The T2 comes with a nice little hand strap, making it perfect to wave around for all to see.
@3c3c3c Жыл бұрын
@@randallstewart1224 the T2 takes decent shots, the 1000$ price tag could be justified if its autofocus was not complete garbage or if it would have a manual rangefinder

Why is my frame counter blinking ??
@NicosPhotographyShow2 жыл бұрын
Its usually because the roll hasn’t been loaded correctly or that its been rewound.

My Contaxt doesn't focus too well - any idea if i am doing something wrong? it's always on auto because i don't want to think and just shoot, but sometimes the focus is just completely off
@TheAwesomejuan2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this cameras autofocus is just RANDOM. I definitely recommend attempting to learn the manual focus.
@randallstewart1224 Жыл бұрын
Unless it is broken, the autofocus n the T2 works as well as any other. When you use an "auto" camera, you have to spend some time reading the user manual to understand how it works, where its limits lie, and how to work around them. The autofocus mechanism in the T2 was invented by Honeywell in the 1970s and has been used in millions of cameras. It is not rocket science. You look in the viewfinder and see an oval "target" spot, which you place on the subject where you want to focus. When you trigger the shutter, the system adjusts the lens to focus at that distance. The camera measures the distance by projecting an infrared light beam and reading its reflection. There are three circumstances where this system will not focus properly: (1) The focus reflection fails because the subject doesn't reflect enough light. Ex., pet fur. Focus on something else at the same distance and lock focus with shutter button, then recompose on your subject. (2) The subject is behind glass, so the focus beam measures to the glass rather than the subject. Select the correct focus manually. (3) User error. Most commonly, this is "focussing", then recomposing without locking the measured focus distance before the exposure. Sorry, even an auto-focus camera requires some thinking once in a long while. The only "broken" T2 autofocus I've ever heard of was where the focus area indicator in the viewfinder had loosened and slipped a bit, so the viewfinder indicator pointed at one thing, while the focus mechanism was looking at something else.
