Just a lil extra tip, most drill bits get hot when they're in use drilling, so when you take the drill bit out, let it drop onto the table rather than lifting it out with your fingers 😊 it's best to get into the habit of just letting them all drop rather then getting burnt from it
@KurosakiYukigo4 жыл бұрын
Yep! Learned that one the hard way! Didn't burn me, but it definitely hurt lol.
@WendyLPN4 жыл бұрын
I learned this the hard way when I put one between my lips to hold it while putting another bit in the drill and burned myself. I learned not to take shortcuts. I'd rather have the extra step of picking a bit up off of the floor.

Another little helpful tip that I learned from my grandfather: If you ever strip your screw, stretch a rubber band over the top of the head, and put your drill over the rubber band, the rubber band helps the drill grip the screw much better, it has saved me more than once 😅
@sharong85114 жыл бұрын
You can also use rubber bands around the lids of jars and bottles that are tough to open. It gives you a better grip as you said. Rubber bands or rubber gloves 🧤 😎
@---Michael---8 ай бұрын
And if that doesn't work use a metal drill that is slightly larger than the diameter of the screw and drill through the head until it comes off, then take the part that was held by the screw off and use locking pliers to screw the remains of the screw out

Hello! This is an excellent video -- it's thorough and comprehensive, and I'll be sure to share it with my novice friends! Personally, I've been working with tools for as long as I can remember. My dad, a practical (cheap) man who would rather fix/make/do everything himself than get someone else to do it or buy things new, made sure of that. Some of my best childhood/teen memories involved remodelling or building projects. My favorite one was the summer we spent building an entire multi-level cedar deck from scratch! However, as a millenial woman, I realize that not everyone has had that kind of privilege. Thus, I can't stress how much I appreciate your videos. They give people (who might otherwise be timid or apprehensive) an informative, easy starting point from which, I hope, a love of tools and DIY can develop! 👍👍👍❤️

I helped an older friend replace her rural mailbox, using a handheld screwdriver to secure the wooden base to the mailbox and to the post. It took me two afternoons! I did not have a power tool. With my palm aching after the first day, I researched cordless drills and screwdrivers overnight. None of my neighbors had one I could borrow, and I decided not to buy one for "one-time" use. Now that I've seen your video, I feel confident I could and would use one... Thank you, Dad!

Whenever you have time, can you make a video on how to change a lightbulb? I know this is probably the easiest thing in the world, but my dad didn't teach me anything.. Love you internet dad! ❤
@KurosakiYukigo4 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the bulb itself or the socket? Because the socket is definitely much harder and you want to call an electrician for that if you're not 110% sure what you're doing. But I'm gonna assume you mean the bulb, in which case, easy as pie! Just turn off the power to the bulb and make sure it's cool, bulbs in use can get quite hot! Reach up and lightly grab the bulb with 2 fingers and a thumb. Gently turn the bulb counterclockwise and it should loosen and unscrew from its socket. Set it aside and put in the new bulb the same way, except turning clockwise to screw it in, until it won't go any further. Be careful not to strip the threads! You don't need to be forceful. Just a note, make sure the bulb you're replacing is of the right wattage. If you put in a bulb that's too high wattage you may cause lots of electrical problems or cause an unsafe condition! Typically most bulbs for home use are 60 watts. Sometimes they use 100, but those are very bright. Be very careful if you put in anything higher and double-check, because that is very uncommon. LED and CFL bulbs use a much lower wattage than the Incandescent bulbs you may be used to, often something like 14W or less, the box will tell you that that's equivalent to, so you don't need to be confused. Overall, it's very easy. Just screw out, screw in. And you're done. I hope that helps you out.
