And what\s the difference (on the colors knob) between "sheets" and "normal"? What different treatment does it give to delicates than casuals? Could it truly be enough to make a difference? But what really gets me is this temperature.... tap-cold, cold, cool, and colors. If I choose "colors" then it would be "cold" right? then why have another option for "cold" ? The manual was laughable since the section on temperature didn't even mention temps.

He said to add detergent directly into the drum (where you put your clothes). So directly into the drum before you put your clothes in.

@malevolence8243 fabric softener is usually added to the fabric softener compartment. Detergent is added usually to the drum of the washer before adding the clothes in top loading washing machines.

"Tap cold" typically uses water directly from your tap, while "cold" or "cool" might mix in a small amount of warm water to reach a set temperature, but it doesn’t actually chill the water. The other cycles, like "sheets" and "normal," adjust spin speed and water levels based on fabric type. And yes, it can feel like there are too many options, but each one is designed for a specific purpose. I agree, though, the manuals sometimes aren’t as helpful as they should be!

You must have a auto sensor that does that for you. They say not to keep lifting the lid while it is filling, as that may confuse the sensor somehow.

Bleach is hard on clothes, they won't last long, so I never use it! I have read about the cycles & watched this & other videos, and still find the "cycle" to select confusing. I've done 2 small loads with my new GE washer so far & the biggest problem is lint left on the clothes. I just re-washed a load with more water, but not the deep rinse, and am going to see how it did now. : )

My GE washing machine is a joke! If I have it on hot it barely fills the “HUGE” barrel with water! Same on “warm water”. But fills perfectly on ice cold water and then it doesn’t get the clothes clean at all! So wonder the soap companies are pushing scented laundry soap or scented dryer sheets! We are now installing another hot water line by the washer itself so we can fill the barrel with hot water! Never again GE! I will get a “Ringer washer” (yes, they are still out there,) before I ever buy a Ge washing machine again!

I too have the same model, and it's the worst washer I ever had !!! Shame on you, GE ! I'll NEVER buy another washer from you. I agree 100 % piece of trash. It is going too damn far when a washing controls us. Who ever came up with this idea hasn’t got a clue how to do laundry. Mine decides how much water according to what you choose. You never get enough water this is the very reason the things don’t work properly because there is not enough water on mine only damp not unless you add water. we should be able to just push a button like we always did small, medium, large. I would never buy that piece of junk again use to be a good company, brand , certainly not any more, it is the most aggravating piece of trash along with stove , fridge, never ever again. I live alone these appliances are not cheap. I take care of my appliances keep them looking like new it isn’t fair because there is no a thing that can be done about it. I hope the company goes bankrupt as costumers we are ripped off, they are a big company we are just people scraping by it is a shame they are allowed to put appliances on the market of such poor quality. We don’t need a complicated washer, drier who are you trying to kid simplify it we don’t need the aggravation thank you very much. We want to enjoy a washing day instead of putting up our blood pressure because it is aggravation time again every single time, torture.

GE GTW331BMR0WS Worst washer ever: noisy agitator that doesn't agitate !!! Water: doesn't fill up properly: small : barely 1 inch of water!! medium = small , large = medium, Super = barley large!!! Spin cycle last 23-25 min!!! And these are only some of all the issues with this very, very, very , bad so-called washer. Barely can wash 2 set of bed sheets and got to add water manually!!! This product should be taken off the market and GE should get a "collective lawsuit" for selling these through various stores and those stores as well for selling this outrageously horrible "washer" machine. 😡🤬
