We have had one for about 4 months, if your washing machine is inside your house, be ready to not watch TV or talk on the phone while it is being used. Sometimes it sounds like a dump truck pulled up to our house. My old washing machine lasted 32 years and never made the loud sounds this one does. But I don't think anyone make the old style washing machines anymore.

Just bought this after suffering with a whirlpool cabrio platinum for four years. The whirlpool was like a toy that didn't wash anything. Clothes would come out as dirty as they went in. Sometimes they wouldn't all be wet due to the tiny amount of water it would use. Now after installing and firing up this bad boy I'm happy to say I have a washer that washes with water! Clothes actually come clean! Yes, it vibrates on the spin cycle, but so did old school washers that worked well. As long as it don't walk when vibrating, I don't see what the problem is. Must be level when you install it. Left to right and front to back. Use a bubble level exactly as shown in the instructions. I'm glad I bought mine. It makes the old whirlpool look like a kids toy!

I seem to like mine. I purchased from Arron's for $334.00. It's used but works very good. The only problem with it was I found tons of dog hair inside the washer. Cleaned it pretty good. So far I have had no problems with it. No fancy over the top Startreck spaceship buttons!!!!!

I just purchased this model a couple of days ago, and all seems to be fine. I guess the biggest adjustment is separating my clothes according to the machine settings. I saw a couple of complaints about the noise, to be honest, my machine is in my basement so I can't really hear it anyway but when I'm near it seems pretty quiet to me. I still have concerns about how little water it uses. I have a family of five, and everything is clean and smells fresh. Reading the reviews and it seems that some issues are user error and others just like the way the older model washers work better.

I was going to buy this washer because the size tub i do a lot of laundry . I saw the reviews got nervous went and bot a 2017 speedqueen. I happy with my choice but i do wish it had a larger wash capacity. I normally wash jeans with daily wair shirts jeans color items. Normally because its only like 3 or 4 pairs of jeans so i dont see the need tonwah just 4 pairs by its self. When i wair jeand instead of slacks the jean count goes up and i will make a separate load. I also have white towels and i normally have a small load of whites cotton tahirts socks underwear and a medium load of towls so I will combine the 2 loads and make one large load unless i have more towels that week like if i had company or something then ill break it down to 2 loads. I like to fill my machine to capacity and reduce the amount of loads i do. I alsondont sort light colors from dark colors unless i buy a new outfit i normally wash in cold water so i havent had an issue with fading or bleeding. I do separate acording to fabric types l run a normal load and then a load of light weights and quck dry items .

Wash towels with towels, jeans with jeans, lightweight items with lightweight items. This will eliminate a lot of the shaking. For example one sock and a pair of heavyweight sweatpants. Unbalanced load from the start. These new machines are designed to spin a lot faster so clothes get really dry before thy go into the dryer which saves dryer energy. :)

Whatever you do, do not, DO NOT throw in one item that will absorb a lot of water, like a bathroom carpet or a single beach towel. What will happen is, the machine will go off balance almost immediately and during the spin cycle, will walk across the floor! BOOM BOOM BOOM! The machine also needs to be very level, unfortunately, even using a carpentry-type level, it's not easy to do, since the level will show different readings depending on what part of the machine it is resting on. You may have to try different level settings and test them by cycling the machine.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Nobody buys a HE washing machine to wash "one sock and a pair of heavyweight sweatpants" alone as a cycle. You should NOT have to bunch together similar items, and if you do, say it was two pairs of heavyweight sweatpants instead of 2nd item a sock. Okay then, your two pairs of heavyweight sweatpants get bunched up on the same side of the drum and are even more imbalanced than if the 2nd item was a sock. What would eliminate shaking is if it went into a slower spin cycle to get more of the water out, and only finished spinning at the higher RPM. It does this slightly by default, by virtue of having an anemic motor that takes a while to get up to speed, but since it is so poor at isolating vibration, it needs to do that deliberately at a slower spin speed for a longer period of time.

Same washing machine. I got about a yr ago. But I have noticed it does not fill up all the way with the deep fill setting. I asked the tech that came out about it...I told him I was not happy with the washing machine due to gets off balance a lot. It's not like my old GE. He said put setting on deep rinse. I did but the water never fills up. Even just on regular wash it only almost half way up. I don't understand how it can get my clothes clean. I feel I wasted my money and I will never buy another GE again. The Tech person was very nice. But the lady I talked to on the phone to send tech out was very rude and it seemed that as a customer calling she was bothered.

I have this machine and I HATE it! Goes out of balance all the time and almost impossible to just run a spin cycle. I have reset the machine many many times and still have issues with any towels in the load. They screw up the spin cycle.

I literally had to unplug it then the lid lock would not let me in. I had to restart it then pause it so I could get into it to rearrange the clothes then the stupid thing started over and made me go through the entire cycle again. It was on final rinse when it started jumping up and down. I used to think GE was the best.

just got this installed 2 hours ago...its noisy and wobbles during the spin. My 25 year old White Westinghouse was quieter, yet smaller. But the H.E. 's are nothing but problems I have heard. You couldn't be more backwards. No, this noisy machine does not clean well. It is noisy because it keeps stopping in the middle of agitating and then sits there for a second doing nothing, not cleaning, because doing nothing uses less power. Quieter does not mean it necessarily doesn't clean as well, rather that it has better dampening and balance, and thicker metal to reduce noise. There is zero chance that this cleans as well as your 25 y/o Westinghouse. There is zero chance it will last 25 years if used regularly. Even 8 years is unlikely. Yes HE's are bad, taking a simple task and trying to make it more efficient by doing it worse. Washing machines don't even use that much power, especially when the older ones got more cleaning done in less time, so HE is madness.

This washer is crap. If you have a person who works outside in the heat and sweats you basically have to wash their clothes in a sink before you wash them in this machine because it does not get the sweat out. I started adding Oxy Clean with odor remover for HE washers but never had this much trouble with the GE washers my parents had in the 70s and 80s or the ones I bought in 1986 or 2010. never had any problems with any washer before this one. Today it got out of balance. I hit the pause button to stop it. It would not stop. I had to unplug it. The old washers you could just stop it and open the lid to rearrange the clothes. The pause button would not stop it today when it was jumping. I had to unplug the 💩washer and then the lid lock would not release until I started it back up then I was able to pause it and rearrange the clothes but it made me go through an additional wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I started washing clothes as a child. I have been washing clothes for 50 plus years and never ever had this many problems until I bought this 💩washer 6 months ago.

I got this to replace a bigger washer that constantly smelled, even after using the stuff you buy at the store to clean it. This one has gone out 3X and each time, the tech says it's something else. I have to constantly push the Deep Fill button in ordered for it to actually "Deep Fill"! I learned this from a sales person in the Lowes store. Hold it for 3 seconds to fill it with 3 gallons more of water? Nope, you have to repeat it several times and close the lid each time. Being on a fixed income, can't just go and buy a new one and I don't trust used one.

I hate mine too. The old ones were just pick your water level, small load, medium load or large, and hot warm and cold. They are trying so hard to control how much water you use it doesn't fill right. Then they add a second rinse option. And what's with the stupid music at the beginning? Who needed a computer on their washer. They did not need to change the old washers. They should have continued to make them like they always did years ago.

This washer is STUPID. STOP BUYING THESE WASHERS TIL THEY GO BACK TO OLD SCHOOL washers. Go wash your clothes at your parents or a friends or find a used older model. until they start making them as good as they used to they need to get f ing stuck with these. I have had mine less than a year and have been washing clothes my whole life. We always had GE washers and the old ones were awesome. They lasted 30 years no problems. This piece of💩 got unbalanced and I hit the pause button to stop it. It would not stop. I had to unplug it. Then the lid lock would not let me open the washer. I had to start it back up then hit pause again so I could open the washer to rearrange my clothes. Then the stupid piece of💩started all over going through the entire wash cycle. The nail salon I go to had one like it for a week. I saw it the first time and said you have a washer like mine. The next time I went a week later they had a another new different washer. I asked them why they replaced the new washer they just had. The vietmanese ladies said "that washer No good" No good" This is the washer they were talking about and I agree No good. I have never before with any other washer had to wash out sweat in a sink before washing the clothes but with this one if you don't they stink after you wash them. Never ever had this problem with my parents GE washers or my 2 previous washers. Never before this washer had to unplug a washer to get it to stop jumping when out of balance. Never had to turn one back on after unplugging it to be able to pause to rearrange the clothes. And then control board showed me it was going to go back through the entire wash cycle that was almost finished when it got out of balance. I have had some younger folks get smart with me about my comments here but I am trying to save you. If those of us speaking out can get you a better product be thankful. I only speak the truth to protect others. One person on this thread said when they called repair the person sounded impatient and rude. I believe understandably they are sick of hearing about this piece of 💩washer and people probably take it out on them. .

2nd video I have seen and nobody is addressing the sensor. Mine came on at least 3 times, not sure what happened if 1 of my kids lift the lid or what, and the load takes longer to wash so if I had set it for an hr it takes hours to wash 😩😢😢 can anyone relate to this situation?

The hole on the auger is where it goes. You have to select 2nd rinse if you must add softener otherwise you’ll still be left with some softener on your clothes or auger(agitator).

I have the exact model shown in video. I hate it. It constantly goes out of balance. If you wash sheets they are always in a big tight knot. I purchased this at Lowes thinking it would be great because of the deep fill option. I would NOT recommend.

if you put every load you do on bulky items, the machine will fill up with the tub more than half way with water. adjust the other knobs as needed. works great.

You add the detergent and then put in the clothes. THEN you finally close the lid and choose your cycle settings. Push start and you're good to go.

So we bought this model in 2016, and other than the subpar agitation action, it’s worked OK until last October when it suddenly stopped spinning. It would drain the tub, then quit and beep like it was finished. Pulled the codes and found the lid switch was bad, so replaced it with the updated version (appeared to be a better design than original), yet no matter how many times I cleared the codes and reset the machine, it still wouldn’t spin. At the advice of a seasoned tech, I replaced the control board and set the “personality” code. It’s worked fine since then up until a couple of weeks ago, back to no spin, but NO codes this time! As far as the OS is concerned all is well, but it is clearly not. Every load now we have to restart with speed wash or drain and spin, and even then it’s hit and miss. Not spending another dime on this piece of crap. Now looking for a new washer!

Bought mine in 2016, too and just trashed it. Has been acting funny for a while and seems to have a mind of its own. Then I had the lid switch problem. I looked at replacing the lid switch myself along with the main board and it would’ve cost $300 and a new machine is $600. Before this machine I had 2 Maytags which only lasted 3 years. I figure 5 1/2 years is good enough and decided to get the same machine again in 2022. Other than spending $1400 on a speed queen I couldn’t find another option that seemed reasonable. I ordered the top rated Consumer Reports LG Toploader and the thing barely wet the clothes and took over an hour, so I returned it. The devil you know as they say.

I had the same issue with no spin to drain. I pulled the drain tube off the pump and found there was some bits of grit preventing the impeller from spinning, I opened up the pump and pulled out the impeller assembly and rinsed it with water. Fixed the issue. Other people have found socks stuck in the pump. Easy fix. Hope you got yours working.

Get a refurbished old one. I don't like this machine. It is not as sturdy as my old one. Obviously cheaply made. It pissed me off that they spend money making it play music instead of just building an old school heavy duty machine. I didn't want computers or a machine that will barely let water in. We have the same machine I had the front legs adjusted so that the machine tilts backwards a little and it doesn't walk or shift sideways like it used to how ever we will not buy this machine again we've had it a little over 2years and it squeaks sometimes when you start it up and the tub starts moving had a piece of clothing get stuck between the agitator and the bottom of the tub and caused the motor to overheat and start smoking never buying ge again

Thus washer has some issues that are easy to fix. 1. Shakes violently when spinning: Level from the bottom edge not the curved top, put in place & level both sides & front. THEN get those ($1.50) dense foam insulation tubes that go around plumbing, I used 2" diameter and trimmed it so it would stuff, really STUFF it, around the bottom sides & front. This will dampen the shaking & quiet it considerably. This is cheaper than a vibration kit! You'll see an edge of the black foam around the bottom, cut it short so it goes between the feet. You're going to push that foam hard. 2. Fabric wear: There was a site that did some research on this, sorry I don't have the link, but it concluded that the Colors setting on Heavy actually was the least rough on clothes. I use this for all my clothes, sheets, towels, it works perfectly. The other factor that effects fabric wear is the amt of water in the tub. 3. Not enough water in the tub: I really mean this, just don't put in so many items. I use the Super fill, never use the Deep Fill, and fill the clothes up about 3/4's in the tub, this was the same amt of clothes my old Kenmore held based on my same laundry bag. The clothes are fully submerged & swimming about. I'm going to start adding more clothes from now on. 4. Clothes come out wrinkled: This thing really wrings the clothes dry on the spin. If you don't move them to the dryer soon, they will "press" in those wrinkles as they dry in the washer. Dry them in the dryer or shake them well right away & hang on the line. 5. Going out of balance: When doing heavy/bulky items, make sure to use Delicate (I haven't tried the Bulky setting yet) setting. It will go through about 20 min of soak/agitation but the agitation is very abbreviated. Don't do just one bathroom rug, do three, my old Kenmore had to have 3 as well. Overall, this machine is my new favorite. It lives in my basement laundry room & I'm able to watch tv in the adjacent family room no problem, it's NOT that noisy when installed this way.

these kinds of top washer i believe it is terribly made, by comparison to the old toploader which sits on a frame these type of newer version is hanged on the top four corner of the washer. The vibration you speak of will only get worse and eventually it will have this error code "unbalanced" and stop working

(I'm french, excuse my english) I think that people complaining bought the last model with automatique water level. Its GE G002, but you cannot select water level. The left knob is name "soil level". When water is runing the lid is locked. (You can't rince your mesuring cup as you did in your video 😔 a old habit for me too). Just got it today... And I am not sure. But let's give it a chance. Maybe this is too much technologie for the old school lady I am.

Had it several years. Now it goes out of balance and won't spin with hardly anything in it. Take almost everything out and spin a few things, then a few more things, then a few more. Then it starts working okay. ??? Replaced all four suspension rods. That didn't fix it. Other people have reported this issue.

We have exact same model for 3 days , the learning curve is very steep , some instructions in the manual are confusing / not well explained. If we knew , would have chosen a good old system ...(real agitator) not HE wich is a complete non-sense just to comply to EPA ruling .If you want clean clothes you need to bypass all those gimmick settings ...i hate the ''save the planet'' ideology.

People complaining about the noise of the machine? Are you people washing in the middle of the night while you are sleeping? Anyway... I just bought this machine, getting it delivered tomorrow. I wanted a HE machine to cut down on water usage, which becoming one of my biggest bills. Also because it has "deep fill" options which is GREAT for HE machines since MOST don't always put enough water. Does this option not work? Or are people not using properly? Seems to me the two biggest complaints are noise and not enough water. I could careless about the noise...But I am definitely going to pick up the extended warranty on it...since some people have had mechanical issues..only about $50 from Home Depot. But then again, any youtube review is going to get mostly complaints in the comments...so I'll just have to see for myself.

So you were trying to second guess the noise complaints before you ever even heard it? Pretty premature, don't you think? There is no "not using it properly", in the name of high efficiency it does not (cannot, is impossible due to where the holes are in the drum), fill the drum, cannot continually agitate without stopping, and cannot spin without vibrating because it's not dampened properly. You don't need an extended warranty, you will not want to put up with it any longer than necessary. When it fails, push it off a cliff and then hope it's damaged enough that some poor soul doesn't happen upon it and try to repair and use it for themselves to only suffer the same way.

I've purchased this machine in Jan of 2019, and have never been satisfied with it. I don't like the fact that the lid locks; I'm not a child. Also, one feature I should have caught at the time I purchased was a "rinse only" feature. My dryer's signal that loan has finished is very low, and even when I'm in the adjoining room I can't hear it. What frequently happens it that I get caught up in something else & forget about my clothes in the dryer - therefore they wrinkle. I want to re-rinse the load so I can put them in the dryer again & pay more attention, but no re-rinse cycle is available. I know, my need is a terrible waste of energy, but give me a break - I'm old & forgetful! The water lever is another annoyance. I recommend that you just don't buy this machine (may not still be in the market now).

Just dampen a sock or wash cloth and throw it in the dryer with the wrinkled clothes. Only takes a few minutes and the humidity removes the wrinkles. Easy and uses a lot less water and electricity than re-rinsing and takes a lot less time.

Smart Advice: Leave your washer on (Speed Wash)...turn your Rinse (off)....also turn your Soak (off)....23 minutes.....I don't have time to listen to a loud, shaky washer.....Only press and hold the Deep Fill down once, thats enough more water.

Bought this THING less than a year ago..... consistently does not fill to level selected. SUPER gets about 5 inches of water. I'm so aggravated I'm going to blow a gasket. Over and over, I try to start of a beautiful sunny morning, jamming out to some music and want to get started on the day..... then the aggravation, constantly having to monitor and reset this POS. Nearly EVERY TIME I used this thing I have to unplug, reset, and try again hoping that it actually resets. Buyers shouldn't have to purchase the extended warranty if these company's would own up and take responsibility for their product(s).... there's always a hidden waiver somewhere. Buy American and what do you get.... today's greedy corporations....lesser standard of workmanship, lesser quality parts. Disappointed that such a simple functioning piece of equipment has been turned into electronic everything .... GE or some other manufacturer who really cares about their customers needs to go back to simple gears and buttons.... shed / toss the fancy crap.... all we want are clean clothes. I tried to find something simple.... but very little out there. If a manufacturer went back to simple (no electronics, sensor to fail)...they'd make a killing separating the fluff to something that just works and logical customer can RELY on. Remember when washing machines lasted for 10 - 20 years???? sorry just venting.....

I've had mine a week. I'm terrified it's going to tear up while I am still making payments on it. It also doesn't spin your clothes around while they wash. it just rocks them like they are a glass baby and you can't get the water level right. My set had better not tear up. I had my first set for 25 years. Now they are building crap so you have to keep buying new ones. It wasn't any of their business how much water we use and we didn't need a complicated washer or the stupid music. Just build them like you did in the 80s. I have had mine a week and I am so mad I could smack whoever at GE that thinks they have to make them so cheapo and add computers. You didn't need to try to get fancy and cheaply put together. Should have stuck with how you made them decades ago. NOT HAPPY. I agree with Chaos@966 comment. GE didn't need to change the way they made them 25 years ago when they would last 25 years or more. 😞

Check both hoses on both ends. I had the same exact issue with the hot water only filling about 6 inches. It turned out my hose was blocked with sediments on the side which attaches to the water valve. I’d take out both hoses and clean them out and see if that works. I was ready to throw mine away but I get a full tub or hot and cold water now

We had a couple of the old GE 1970s and 80s washer that lasted 30 years. This one has given us nothing but grief since day one and I saw one the other day on the side of the road. Somebody had already dumped theirs. Wish I had gotten a picture to post here so everyone could see one of these was in a ditch on the side of the road. Mine sounds like a Jet on a runway during spin cycle. They are cheap, throw away models that seem to do a good job as far as getting clothes clean in today's no water/low water models. If you buy one of these be sure you have a basement, garage or non occupied space to put it because the noise is deafening. I would advise getting an extended warranty because these cheap models seem to develop problems shortly after warranty expires. It could easily cost as much for a repair as the machine cost new. If you're not restrained by budget upgrade to something quieter and more reliable.
