How to use a heat sealer for mylar or plastic bags

Using the Harvest Right impulse sealer or heat sealers generally leads to frequent questions at the shop. If you are having problems achieving a solid seal on your mylar or plastic bags the problem may be your settings or your process. In this video we show you how we seal bags for long term storage and for our custom made beer or whiskey kits.

I'm no expert but I think you should put oxygen absorbers at the top. That's the only way I have seen it done. On the top I suppose it is in the air pocket..

I'm not sure about that. All things in nature tend to flow from a high concentration gradient to a low concentration gradient. Except teen girls going to the bathroom (they tend to clump together which, arguably violates several natural laws.) Aaaanyway, no matter where you place an oxygen absorber in a container the oxygen (O2) is going to get more and more scarce as the absorber does its 'absorbing thing' resulting in O2 evenly spreading throughout the free space in the bag until the absorber has captured all of the free O2 or the absorber maxes out its capability. O2 mixes with carbon dioxide and nitrogen in a mylar bag just like they mix together in a room or in a car. It is very convenient to not have to jump to the ceiling of a room to get a breath of oxygen. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!
