Will this tool do a forced regen on a gm 2.8l duramax diesel? These tools are all the same with the advertising on things they can do and then ends up they can perform certain bidirectional functions on 1 in 10 vehicles only.

RESET DPF 123E does not support this function, 129E supports this function. When producing this product, we will try our best to include as many diagnostic functions as possible, but the functions of each brand of car are different, and some functions are not supported. It depends on whether the vehicle being diagnosed contains the function.

I know this video is from a while back but did you have issues with bidirectional controls? I tried accessing them on a 2010 Honda Civic and it said my software is not up to date, to update it and retry. But the software is 23.0 and either way it’s a 13 year old car, I’m assuming it just doesn’t support any bidirectional controls for it right?

I used a Launch CRP129E on a 2005 Mitsubishi L200 with ABS problems It did access the fault codes and print them .The ABS speed sensor monitors and graphs proved extremely helpful on this scanner. However I am concerned about overloading the memory capacity on this scanner as I have a lot of information on this scan tool for vehicles I will never need. I would prefer Launch to make it easier for people to update all the relevant information applicable to the vehicles that they will be working on instead of having a load of information for vehicles they will never need. ABS Brake bleeding relevant to the specific vehicle being serviced would be far more useful than sections covering cars not required. Apparently some extra functions can be purchased in the MALL icon but the ABS Brake bleeding appears to expire after 12 months.

The CRP129E basic features is free, But If you want to use CRP129E do ABS Brake bleeding, you need pay for a adding features every year.

@@kingbolen_official DIY mechanics servicing two or three vehicles do not want to keep renewing brake bleeding programmes every 12 months especially when some other DIY scan tools do have the brake bleeding function . I am sure that if Launch included brake bleeding as a basic feature on their CRP129E diagnostic scan tool without having to pay a 12 month renewal fee they would sell a lot more CRP129E scan tools and become a much more dominant diagnostic tool supplier in the world market place. Brake fluid absorbs water and needs to be changed regularly also the brakes require regular maintenance. Sometimes using a tool to hold the brake pedal down and capping the brake lines can help prevent air from entering the ABS module but this is not always possible.

@@TOLDyouSOagain The problem has been solved in that the MAC address is fixed as it should be. I have no idea how that happened, maybe in an update. I enter my MAC in the router, but that was pointless if it changes all the time.

I've just purchased one. Have problems with my 2008 Nissan Qashqai steering in that I changed the clockspring and now get the dashboard yellow lights for electronic stability control and ESP so I believe the steering needs recalibration. Does this tool recalibrate or just reset the steering angle sensor, anyone know?

I just did an update 2022-01-16, the previous one was done on 2021-08-07. 35 updates were required, but only 33 were installed. Where are these updates stored? My unit shows 35.59 Mb / 4.88 Gb free. Am I running out of memory and if so, there is not a lot I can do about it as there is no microSD card slot? All screenshots, etc have been deleted. CRP12XI_GUARD_APP (V1.29) and BMW/Rolls Royce/Mini (V50.82) did not install. This is a first as I have done 14 updates since I bought this unit.

@@kingbolen_official So if I understand it, since the 129E comes with Lifetime Updates, I can delete certain vehicles and then load them if I ever needed to at a later date. I looked at upper end diagnostic scanners. The problem is as a DIYer on my own vehicles, I am not interested in paying for yearly updates.

Well I finally got around to solving the "lack of memory" issue on this device. One has to wonder why it doesn't have a microSD card slot because memory is ultra cheap. I deleted 20 car makes, most cars I would not see on this continent plus cars from the big-three. And after all that, I now have 1.55 GB free of the total 4.88 GB available. Really, a whopping 4.88 GB. Hell I can buy a 64 GB microSD for less than the price of a pizza.
