not necessarily, if you want to be precise you actually use the focusing patch.

You set hyperfocal distance, you set f-stop, you set shutter speed, you set ISO, you put it up to your face, and push the button, no?

😲 You just described my iPhone. Everything is in focus, nobody cares while shooting a picture with it and to composite my picture is also easy while watching on display and / or over the iPhone. It is small and discreet too - i can put it in my pocket. Unfortunately it demands less from photographer - but i can concentrate to the perfect moment, to the perfect motif without switching the focus ring or thinking about the right aperture or shutter speed. Its time to change the Leica adds. Can't hear anymore - reduced to essentials - bla bla. I like Leica too. I'm yousing old M2 and M3 with Elmar and Rigid lenses. They have a nice look. The newer ones are simply technical clean and perfekt - without soul. But that's only my opinion. 😉

There’s nothing wrong about taping the red dot, people will recognize the camera and they’ll ask you “ Is ThAt A lEiCA?”

I always laugh when street photographers with cameras on their neck in 2020 think that they “blend in” on the streets. You stick out more than anyone else. If you want to blend in, use a smartphone.

My Leica M11 is not small, discreet and unintimidating to people. I love my Leica, but come on....
