I was frustrated at first when I got this the other day. All because I thought I was stuck in overdub mode after recording. Thank you so much for this video! Now I'm having fun and really loving this pedal.

Ik this vid is 2 years old and i have no clue if this question will be answered but i was wondering if the pedal is supposed to act like this or its user error, when i play a loop and i proceed to just play over that loop (I dont' mess with over dubbing) the loop sounds extremely quiet compared to what i am playing i have my level knob on the pedal all the way up plz help if you can🙏
@heidmusic6 ай бұрын
I would recommend setting the level to the midpoint (12 o'clock) and make sure the instrument level going into the looper is loud enough. Depending on what other pedals you might be running before/after the looper, you might want to make sure the various output levels are uniform as well. Happy looping!

I just got one of these yesterday so this video was helpful. My question: If you play the first loop for four bars, do all subsequent overruns have to also be four bars? (I tried going a little longer and it was all messed up.)
@heidmusic2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! You are correct. The first loop sets the length of the available recording time. You may want to repeat the base loop/riff/beat for a few more bars to give your self appropriate recording time. Happy playing!

@@saxophool it probably means B-stock. which means it was either Returned from an order error, ex display or a discontinued line or products. if not. its probably just the Black edition given my recent google search

So say I wanna record a riff but I wanna be able to adjust my settings on my distortion pedal while its looping to maximize or perfect the tone in the loop. Is this possible if so how would I run it?
@heidmusic2 жыл бұрын
If you run the looper before the distortion you can do that but it wouldn't then record it with that distortion if you wanted to change it for another part.

When using the RC1 with stomp boxes starting with my guitar going into the RC1 to a wa wa pedal to a Chorus pedal and out to my Fender amp the problem is, whatever stomp box effect I recorded with changes in play back to the stomp box effect I’m using to solo over it with. I want both recorded loop and solo to be independent of each other. Anybody got any ideas? Is the RC1 supposed to be the first input in the pedal lineup ?
@heidmusic6 ай бұрын
Hey Richard, typically you would run the RC1 last in the effect chain so that you can avoid not having control of what effect is happening on each loop. Anything you run after the looper is going to affect everything playing from the looper and not be able to be on only one layer. Thanks for watching!
@perrypelican94762 жыл бұрын
Is all that to say that you start playing at the same instant as you tap the looper
@heidmusic2 жыл бұрын
It's not the exact same instant, but you don't want to start more than a beat or so after you engage the looper.

What does the level knob do?
@heidmusic2 жыл бұрын
It adjusts the return volume of whatever loops you've recorded, so you can balance it with your non-loop signal. Thanks for watching!

Could you loop like 16 measures of music and then play over that?
@heidmusic2 жыл бұрын
Boss offers a variety of Loop Station models. The basic RC-1 can loop up to 12 minutes of recorded audio, which should definitely accommodate 16 measure of even a very slow tempo.
@heythere69833 жыл бұрын
So many loopers I have no idea what they all do even at a store I asked and the guy couldn’t tell me lol. I never use loopers. I essentially want one where I can record for a fair amount of minutes , the longer the better ideally. I don’t need many loops going at once just a few, maybe 4? And I want to be able to save and go back to it. I want to looper essentially you record and write with on the spot without having anything setup for recording .This way if I get an idea I can look and work on vocals if The rythm or melody is tricky. So I’d use it less for trying to be a one man band and just for working on a piece of music in a stripped down way. Any suggestions for a looper than can do these things? Can a looper also fast forward into a certain part of the loop?
@heidmusic3 жыл бұрын
We're not sure of a looper that has all of those functionalities in one. What is sounds like might work for you is a simple recording interface or a handheld recorder if you're looking to get some ideas documented. A looper pedal is geared more towards doing 1-2 measure loops and building on top of that, typically in a one man band setting.

Yeah I get it but it should have a volume control for loop I guess we need to loop on low vol ? Thru guitar or amp master or amp vol??? Huh😮

Please help me understand this ...whenever you want to clear the loop out it seems to always make a noise?.. is there any way to silence that seems very awkward for a live situation
@heidmusic2 жыл бұрын
A solution will depend on other factors in your setup. One example I would suggest is to run your pedal tuner after the looper so that you can mute the signal when performing operations like that or even just as a backup "killswitch" for your signal. I will also touch base with our guitar department buyer to see if there's any other suggestions/recommendations from Boss. Thanks for checking in with us!

Can anybody please clarify if it is possible to loop something clean and then change the amp settings to distortion and play along with the clean loop?
@Footender3 жыл бұрын
You can if the amp has an f/x loop and you plug the looper pedal into that instead of where your guitar plugs in as anything in the f/x loop is after the preamp so what you originally recorded is unaffected by any changes to your settings. If the amp doesn't have an f/x loop you cant do that but if you use a distortion pedal instead of the distortion on the amp you can put the looper pedal after the distortion pedal and its the same idea.
@heidmusic3 жыл бұрын
You can do that if the distortion is being made from something before the looper in the signal chain. Easiest way to do that would be to use some sort of overdrive/distortion pedal and have the looper be the last thing in your signal chain. You could also try this by putting the looper in your effects loop on the amp if it has one.

Hold pedal down to clear, that sounds right. But then it plays the last part of the loop for a few seconds...that makes the pedal useless when playing live.
