Hi, I need your feedback! Feel free to answer these questions or comment on something different. What did you like about this video? What did you dislike? How could I improve next time? What do you think about the intro?

I liked the flowers and the lady bug, and I liked the setting, and I liked hearing about the history of the lucet. I disliked that you seemed not to have practiced using the lucet with linen thread, yet I'm sure you would have practiced. Maybe it is just a really fiddly operation. Most importantly, I wanted to see the finished cord. I don't remember the intro particularly. I'll go back and watch again. Ah, pockets--or the lack thereof. I found it a good intro to the topic.

I like the video overall; the music, setting, your clothing, your call explanation and the different video shots. 1 small bit of criticism: the music in the intro was a bit too loud for my taste. Thank you for making this content, I subscribed! Greetings from Belgium.

@@jannes3290 Thank you! The feedback is great. By intro, you mean the first line I said or the "graphic intro"?

This could have been a bit longer to show more results, but I blame it on the rain... Well done in any case!

Exactly, I was planning to do that, but you can't win with the weather, thanks!

I'd like to have seen a little more of the finished product if possible next time. Thank you for the video though.

It rains on the rich, it rains on the poor, it rains on producers of fine videos. I like the informality of these wonderful “pinches”.

On a different matter, the photography and the music were excellent.

I’m looking for documentation for lucet cords in England, circa 1400. I’ve found them in Anglo-Saxon England and in the American colonies, but nothing in between. Have you had better luck?
@APinchOfHistory2 жыл бұрын
Well, as said in the video, it seems they wained out of use in the period 12th - 17th centuries. The archeological finds from this period are very rare.

I wondered why the forks were so long.

You mean the prongs? The lucet I'm using is actually more like post-medieval ones. In Middle Ages, these prongs were often quite a lot shorter.
