No i have not had a chance. I am currently in the process of building a new shop at my new property so I can get back into the log furniture

Make some plugs for your tennon cutters, that fit into the bottom of the cutter so that it stops when you hit the plug. The depth of the cutter is 2.9" so if you want 1.5" tennons make a plug that is 1.4 " and your tenons will always be 1.5" and no checking required.

Just a thought, you think it could be any faster if you put a pencil on the square to make a quick mark at the point that your tenon cutter would be when you get to the end of your cut? You should set it in your vise so that when it hits the right length the bit hits like on a back stop. As long as the blade doesn't hit the back stop it should speed it up
