WARNING!!! Read before buying one. I own one. It’s great for sweet gum and wood with little knots and high moisture. Fair warning, if you come in contact with a knot on oak or similar, you can break a wrist or arm easily. When you hit a knot it can yank tool right from your hand. If your drill has throttle lock on it, can be very dangerous out of control. I’ve owned mine for years and built many pieces of furniture and deck railing with it. Be careful and avoid knots!!!

I live in the rather hot humid and swampy South. There is a trick you can use on those homemade fence post to make them last longer in the ground without rotting. Get yourself a bucket of roofing tar or Roofing latex. Go to Walmart or your local hardware supply store get you some of those cheap screw hooks used to hang up flower pots. Screw them into the end of the fence post so you can string something threw it and hang the fence post up. Then dip the end of the fence post you're going to stick into the ground into whichever you bought Roofing tar or Roofing latex. Then hang it up somewhere where it won't make a big mess and let the roofing pitch or latex dry. Once it dries you can put it in the ground and it'll keep moisture, fungus and just about everything else that'll cause that wood to rot from getting to it. It'll add years to the life of that fence post.

My wife and I recently bought a house and some land in the countryside. We realize we're happiest when we're out there like you are, tending to the property outdoors. Working up a sweat, seeing the fruits of our labor and sleeping like we never do in the city. And though I think we're probably on opposite sides of the political spectrum I've found myself drawing the same humble conclusion as you. Turn off the tv, turn off Facebook and tend to the things you have influence on. Your family, your relationships, your immediate community. In that simple exercise we become just humans and not democrats and Republicans and on that I think we would all get along just fine. Thanks for making content.

I second this sentiment. In providing for ourselves and our community, in learning about working with our hands, producing things ourselves, we find things that we all agree on. There is nothing divisive about making a perfect mortise & tenon joint. To me, these simple things transcend this division that seems to be worsening in our country.

@@kevingoff7233 You are saying that communism is not real. You are saying that the division is baseless. That is the type of psychotic thinking that has allowed it to progress as far as it has. Because communism is an anti-christian the churches should be warning people. You might be one of those anti intellectuals. If you would like to reply, please be precise on what you are referring to.

So many people have the exact same idea but even though many things about the ideas you have explained are definitely awesome there is something much more wonderful for our nation. Our founding fathers in my opinion would be turning in their graves if they saw how much of the the American public has these attitudes that are not the best for us. Cast something good is wonderful but the best is much more helpful. The greatest power is understanding the greatest freedom is knowing the truth and this means knowing it completely. Most people don't begin to know the truth completely. Well they definitely begin but if you know the saying there is much more then they have ever realized. We wouldn't have millions of people making similar comments if this was not the case. You can tell by the comments of so many people how powerful their understanding is or very clearly that it still need to be greater and even though it is awesome in many ways it can and seriously needs to be much better with life changing understanding. If you want to know the most valuable knowledge you could send me a message.

What a tool, that was awesome! You said what you needed to Cody, don't dwell on the election, do good where you can. I don't think you need to say anymore on that subject than you just did. Great work as usual!

This was just what I needed tonight after a day in the office dealing with the virtual world. Thanks for sharing with us. EDIT: I just now was able to listen to the end. I'm right there with you. A lot of this is because people have forgotten the difference between a "Democracy", which people think we are, but in fact aren't, and a "Constitutional Republic", which we are. This is a failure/hijacking of the governmental education system we have grown up in the last 60+ years. Anytime a fellow believer says they're hopeless, I always think of the hymn line "...my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness..." Lots of scripture can go along with that, my friend. Stay strong, keep preparing in your own home as you're instructed to in scripture, and all works out in the end.

This channel has made me work on my garage to finally build or do something with my hands. Built a workbench (my first wood anything I think really). It's not fancy and probably isn't the best, but it's nice getting lost in the work of your own choosing. I think that helps me too with leaving the virtual and societal world?

Technically correct but functionally we are a democracy. A lot has changed in 200+ years. “And too the republic for which it stands”
@TXSuburbanHomestead
@TXSuburbanHomestead 3 жыл бұрын
@@David-sp7gc But we're not functionally a democracy. People can vote, yes, but if you look historically at democracies, they are not what we are. A constitutional republic is what we were founded to be and should still be. That being, a group of individual states coming together and agreeing on the rules by which we the people agree to be governed. Once we lose sight of that, we are doomed to the outcomes of democracies throughout history, that being collapse in upon themselves from the weight of people "democratically" voting to give themselves what they want. A "democracy" is essentially a 51% majority rule" for literally anything and a constitutional republic is one where we the people limit the power of the governing authorities to dictate. BTW, I enjoy the conversation, so thanks for joining in.
